Obama lost without his teleprompter.

I heard that even Bill Maher who strongly supports Obama admits that Obama is lost if he does not have a teleprompter in front of him and also speech material from which he can read and does not reallyl have to think about what he is saying. Is that all it takes to be a president is a teleprompter? LOL.

I had hoped the talking heads would explain it, but they seem to have decided to punish him for denying them a good show by reporting the debate straight. I'm waiting for thoughtful articles to be published.

In the meantime, with the media planning on slicing and dicing every phrase and expression, my guess is his team felt there was very little to gain and more to lose if the the press fixated on some adverse theme. Only 2% of viewers were uncommmitted. Remember, they always fixate on visual stuff and quick phrases and repeatedly show tape supposedly illustrating their interpretation.

Remember what a big deal they made of George H.W. looking at his watch? Al Gore's sighs at his opponent's comments became the event of the night at one of his debates--ignoring the stupidities he was trying to mark for viewers. Remember George W. against Gore or Romney, can't remember which, how they kept going on about how often the dem candidate changed his clothes?--a line fed them by the right in the first place. They were literally ripping him one over his supposed clothes changing problem, before and for the debate, AT the beginning of the debate.

I heard 3 pundits talking ahead of time about how much President Obama supposedly "dislikes" and even "hates" Mr. Romney (I can believe dislike, almost all fellow politicians do, but it's hard to imagine Mr. Cool bothering to hate). In any case, it really would not have done for an expression or phrase to have been interpreted as confirming this, or even as petty irritation.

We'll see what the real experts make of it eventually.

I think it was a strategy of some kind too, though - not sure what.
