They should put a picture up of what the girls in the Obama household and their school is serving. Let the kids see how the elitist eat and how MO treats the kids of this country

Plus, it's safe to say that if you can put your kids in private school, there are probably greater advantages available beyond just better lunches.

I find one link referring to Haskell High School in Oklahoma, and another referring to Haskell High School in Texas. Kind of odd.

Again, the superintendent clearly states "students are offered FIVE items and they’re are required to take three."

This story is a redux of the same old story and it's reprinted on a monthly basis.

rather than privately purchased, and I'm wondering why, if it is a national regulation, then is there a disparity between meals there and other states?

An option might be that some areas are spending less tax dollars on public schools in favor of privatization. If that is the case, then taxes would need to be raised or votes for more funding to go to public schools instead. Because no money, no food

You've heard of dumbing down the population. Well if you starve kids, they won't learn.

Honestly, they need nutritionists and pediatricians to go into those schools and talk about how Mrs. O's policies are fiddling with these children's health and growth.

This is absolute nonsense. Many kids can't afford lunch now and if this is all they get, I say this is stupid.

I sent my son to a Christian School but I had to pack his lunch. They had no cafeteria. I think that has changed though by now many, many years later.

I do hope someone wakes up and starts feeding these poor kids. I could not tolerate or stomach that kind of food. I don't like much of it and what is a kid has gastrointestinal problems and can't eat raw foods or spicy ones.

They seem not to be able to distinguish the fact that she is deliberately starving children while she and her kids look well fed, really beyond well fed. Michelle looks rather obese. Doubt she is eating this kind of stuff. If so we'd save lots of money on the WH meals wouldn't we as well as school lunches. Who gets that extra money they charge for this, yes GARBAGE.

The government to stay out of their business expect the government to feed their children. Take the time to make your children lunch and feed your own kids! My grandchildren take their lunch to school every day unless there is something on the menu they fancy. The menus are posted a week ahead.

My daughter just started high school this year and has decided that she does not want to eat school lunches anymore. She claims they make her stomach hurt. My husband and I married for about a year. His niece is having a baby. I came across this site (don't remember how, a link off of a link off of a link, etc). Anyway...thought these were adoreable pics of kids reading to cats in shelters while they wait to be adopted. I think it's a great program. The site itself I like. It's about books and there is a tab off to the right that you can sign up and get some books for free others for really cheap on the kindle or whatever type of reading device you might have. After 8 years of Rendell and the dem-controlled state government, people in this state finally woke up. The house, senate and governor are all pub controlled. Hopefully, things will get done now.
