It's been raining off and on all day and probably one of the last nights of "winter" type weather we'll have. My husband is in the kitchen making homemade albondigas and tortillas, which we love on nights like this. Does anyone else have a cold/rainy weather favorite food? My husband and I married for about a year. His niece is having a baby. I am happy for her but have only seen her twice and got invite to baby shower, out of state, couldn't go, ultrasound of her baby on the invite and yesterday got 52 pics of her pregnancy pictures. I came across this site (don't remember how, a link off of a link off of a link, etc). Anyway...thought these were adoreable pics of kids reading to cats in shelters while they wait to be adopted. I think it's a great program. The site itself I like. It's about books and there is a tab off to the right that you can sign up and get some books for free others for really cheap on the kindle or whatever type of reading device you might have. Believe it or not, I got a wonderful cat at a shelter today! He is a gorgeous black cat, looks like a little panther, and is incredibly affectionate and good natured. So first I got a fruit basket delivered today from one of my accounts. Very nice. Then I got my mail and there was a X-mas card from our next door neighbor. They are retired, in their 80s, and live in Florida for the winter. Since we live in an area that has plenty of snow, we (usually me) shovel or snowblow their sidewalk whenever needed. In the past they have always sent a X-mas card with a check for my husband for doing the snowblowing, I think usually about $50. ...
