If the US could eliminate the party system, then

And if the world could eliminate religious extremism, or better yet, the religion "crutch" altogether, then CIVILIZATION might just stand a chance.

What exactly do you mean?? Because my feeling is the only way America is going to survive is to get back to our grass-roots upon which this country was founded and God is intertwined with EVERY aspect of our lives.
I suppose "Voo-Doo" might've described it better. - It brings out the worst in people worldwide.
Who are you going to blame when things get - worse if you manage to

My prayer is that you never have to find out.

dollars in relief to Haiti over this past year....building shelter, providing medical assistance, food, etc. All that money donated by Christians in this country seeking to help people. Yeah, our Christianity certainly brings out the worst in us.
And yeah, they really proselytized. They had a prayer with the folks and handed them a Bible. Boy, that was awful, wasn't??
By the way, how much have you donated to Haiti relief this year?
Christians have helped the less fortunate in this country since its inception. They did not have to be forced by the government to do so. There were fewer homeless when faith-based organizations were handling it than when the government took it over. That is because faith-based organizations believe in a hand up and not a hand out, back in the day when people believed it was their responsibility to take care of their families but sometimes needed a lift during a tough time. Faith-based organizations have always been there and will the FIRST there.
Yeah...they are the worst, aren't they?
Agreed! Op really should be careful what he/she - asks for. Whatever they

"think.."...they DO NOT want a world without God.
We are a country founded on the will of men to have freedom to worship as they pleased. That is why we exist. The further we as a country turn from God, the worse things get. History tells us that.
OP apparently is now after freedom to worship.
And they wonder why we do not want them in power. Go figure.
and who is "them"? - now that is a telling comment
To a conspiracy theorist I suppose it would be... - a telling comment...lol
[ In Reply To ..]
"They" would be people who seek to take God/religion/whatever they want to call (it in their comfort zone) out of the world. I am thinking that OP is not the only one that feels that way, hence "they."
However, if he/she is, please accept my apology and I ammend my comment to "he/she."
Thanks!
I'll take good ol' common sense over blind faith, any day. - Very little sense found in most religion.
I Wish The US Would Dump The Party System...Dec 22, 2010 Nothing ever gets done - all that ever happens on Capital Hill is the Dems and the Pubs fight, and try to derail each other's ideas, bills, etc. There has just got to be a better way. The elections need an overhaul, as well. No sooner are politicians elected to office (in EITHER party!), than they're already campaigning for re-election. So, In My Social Circle, I've Seem Some Shakeup In The Party SystemJan 13, 2016 Democrats supporting Trump, republicans supporting Sanders, and a few of both parities supporting Rand. I'm personally behind Sanders. I know some of his ideas are not doable. At the same time, maybe he's the guy to at least get the ball rolling. I'm not dumb enough to believe any politician is completely "real," however, I think Sanders is probably the most "honest" of both party candidates. Question: Why Do You Think Americans Are (generally) Willing To Accept A Two-party System?Jul 29, 2013 Here's the reason for my question: The two-party system is, and has been corrupt for a long time. In a country where you can have a choice of about 35 different types of salad dressing but only two viable choices for the highest office in the land, I just find it is stunning that Americans are willing to stand for this.

There are truly needy people and they should be helped. But there are also many people who don't have health insurance because they just do not want to pay premiums, use their money for other things instead, when they could pay and are able to pay. This is just not right and this needs to be stopped, and that should make a dent in health care costs. Why not go after the health care ... Public School System CutbacksMay 11, 2010 What has your district cut back on? So far we have cut over 250 teachers and nearly 50 admin. jobs, extended the furlough days, cut 4 instructional days out of next school year, increased class size yet again, cut coaches supplements and completely cut out middle school sports for next school year.
