it may be true, but it won't make any difference come election day. Hope it gets here soon! so sick of this stuff.
I bet you are "sick of this stuff". - But...umm...if so what are you doing here?
[ In Reply To ..]
Why don't you get away from it? Get your garden or your car ready for winter. Take a drive and enjoy the fall leaves.
Coming onto this board voluntarily and then complaining that you're "sick of it" seems a bit incongruous, doesn't it?

Yes but what makes it new and improved is the unique delivery and that a credible physician is presenting it. It now resonates with citizens because we may see after the horse has left the starting gate that it is running backwards. So it is not too late to turn this around on Nov. 6th. VOTE!
AMA to Wall Street Journal: AMA Support of Affordable Care Act - (Succinct little letter inside stating why.) SM
[ In Reply To ..]
Wall Street Journal
Letter to the Editor
To the Editor:
The recent column from Daniel Henninger (ObamaCare's Lost Tribe: Doctors, 7-5-12) describes challenges facing physicians in our nation, but incorrectly attributes them to the health reform law. Quality reporting requirements were established years before passage of the Affordable Care Act. Meanwhile, ongoing intrusions from government, insurers and others outside the exam room have chipped away at the patient-physician relationship. Protecting this relationship has been â and will remain â a core focus for the American Medical Association.
While the law is not perfect, the AMA, the nation's largest physician organization, supported it because it makes necessary improvements to our health care system. We are pleased the law expands coverage to millions of uninsured who live sicker and die younger than those with insurance. It allows physicians to see patients earlier before care is more expensive, provides funding for research on drugs and treatments, increases Medicare and Medicaid payments for primary care physicians and includes Medicare bonus payments for general surgeons in underserved areas.
The AMA is working during implementation of the law to make changes like eliminating the Independent Payment Advisory Board. Lawmakers also must address two problems that predate the law, the broken Medicare physician payment formula and the flawed medical liability system.

Who are you going to believe? -

I think some physicians view AMA like some MTs view AHDI. I hope the Health Care Act is all you supporters believe, because we may be stuck with it. Have you seen some of the misleading information being pumped out to the elderly by AARP on the Romney/Ryan Medicare plan?. AARP can support Obama if they like, that's their business. But when they tell my edlerly parents they will be forced into a voucher program if they support Romney, etc., that is just wrong. Frankly, unless I can know what is in it for these groups, I am afraid to believe any organization. I do, however, believe my doctor.
AMA's 200,000+ members, of course, who - do mostly support it. SM
[ In Reply To ..]
Those 200,000 physicians can be compared to the 10-20,000 members, mostly southerners (particularly high from Alabama for some reason) who dropped out after the AMA's endorsement of the ACA.
Young doctors, especially, are more likely to specifically support the ACA. Not surprising given the changes it requires--the older you are and the better paid you are under a current system, the less likely it is you're going to be happy with change.
Most doctors wish to God they never - went into this field.
[ In Reply To ..]
Most doctors will tell you to NOT go into the field of medicine, but instead become a dentist or pharmacist.
Young doctors do not know better until they are in the field and realize what the hell did they do with their lives.
My doctor who I work for is freaked about her taxes she has to pay. She is in debt up to her ears from school loans and all the insurance costs and what Medicare wants. It is not worth for a doctor to see a Medicare patient which is why most doctors deny Medicare coverage because of the high costs and how time consuming it is to understand Medicare and billing reasons. It is not worth for doctors to pay their employees to understand and bill Medicare patients. Too time consuming and having to rebill and rebill Medicare along with other insurance companies.
WHAT WE NEED TO DO IS FIX THE INSURANCE COMPANIES. I work in billing and it SUCKS big time dealing with the insurance companies.
Yes, I am all for no preexisting conditions and children being covered under their parents' insurance plan up to age of. Something has to be done with the health care system, but like the video states, it is really ridiculous how ObamaCare was evolved.
You'll be happy to know the move is away from - fee-for-service then. That will not make

docs all that happy, though. Nothing to do with Obamacare, but like everything else, their services are being commoditized--something that can be owned and sold by someone else (their employers contracting with giant provider chains and insurance companies).
If they don't like it, they can vote to completely reform our election process and get representatives who represent them instead of their new owners. There's been some BIG-TIME SOCIOECONOMIC ENGINEERING that needs to be cleaned out.
For a long time working conservatives thought they and the very wealthy conservatives were on the same team. They're only now coming to realize (the smarter ones) that the genuinely wealthy are on their own team--regarding them all as labor, a cattle pen where typists and physicians, liberals and conservatives mill together.

Read up on Rockefeller's HUGE grants given to med schools that began back in the 1970s, and the subsequent changes to the curricula of our future physicians that resulted. (No doubt I'll have to spell this out for some of you: Rockefeller bought the instruction that he wanted taught.) Don't think this goes on? Think again.
For years now I have posted on an online forum for rad residents. The vast majority are PRO-GLOBALIZATION, just as most young people are today.
Why would these educated, intelligent young people be so pro-globalization?
Have they researched it firsthand? No.
Have they witnessed its "benefits" firsthand? No.
Have they read any books on the topic? No.
The answer is that they have been brainwashed in their schools, from primary on up. They repeat the same CANNED phrases over and over, without ANY independent research into the topic to verify or refute what they have been "taught."
Even a simple Google search will reveal that several prominent former proponents of globalization in the UK and the rest of Europe have done a 180 and now denounce it as an "utter failure." A similar search-engine quest will also reveal the devastating effects that globalization has had on farmers in India, Mexico (contributing to our illegal immigration problem), and even the United States.
The same mentality that supports globalization also supports socialized medicine.

Only 29% max of all U.S. physicians belong to the AMA. I have been an ongoing member my entire career. That does not mean I agree and support every that they might!

Just because someone does not have a better plan does not mean this is a good plan. Hillary tried when Bill was first elected and failed. I think something definitely needs to be done. I doubt many people would disagree on that. But the reality is this plan does not seem workable to me and if far to broad and expensive.

I do not believe in criticizing anything unless I have a better way. In the case of Obamacare I do believe I have a feasible and better plan. I have been researching the situation and am now ready to reveal my suggestions to the powers that be, whenever the right party asks me to do so.

Questions About Insurance And Crappy Diagnosis, Etc.Jul 30, 2010Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can give me a bit of info (since I have much better luck on message boards than I do trying to go directly to any source). ; )
To the point, I had not been to a doctor in several years. I recently went to a gynecologist (was actually a NP) and then she referred me on to an IM doc. Obamacare Meltdown Has Arrived.
