Did the GOP debate address offshoring of jobs?

but I don't believe that was ever addressed. I wish someone would talk about this though. Not only are we losing our jobs, but I still say having our medical records typed in other countries is a national security risk. I just don't get why no one in politics is standing up and saying something.

It's a very simple equation - my friend...

It is because it is the very same large corporations who donate the huge sums of money to candidates to get them elected. In other words, the candidates aren't going to bite the hand that feeds them. Though government officers can't legally use campaign money for personal use, there are many, many perks for them once they are elected that far outpace anything they could illegally use, the least of which is being set for life in retirement. Where else can one work for a mere 2-4 years, at the very least, and receive a retirement pension and medical care for the rest of their lives? That aspect alone needs to be taken out of the equation.

As an example, read the extensive article in Rolling Stone about the wives of financiers receiving government money and not paying it back, as to how much greasing goes on between government and high finance. The trade-off is junk stocks that they government (meaning we taxpayers) hold as "collateral" if this money isn't paid back. Yeesh, we all need to be investing in Vaseline stock. The corruption in this country's government is astounding.

I totally agree - sm

We need to get all the corrupt Dems and Repubs out.
Yeah, but then others would just step up and - do the same thing SM

I believe there was a time when Campaign Finance reform was on the table, but of course that went nowhere. Now, the SC has determined that a corporation is a "person" so they can now legally corrupt the oh so willing politicians. Everywhere I turn, I hear about more and more corruption, fraud, and greed, i.e., the No Child Left Behind posts as an example. It seems as if everyone has an agenda. They take an oath to represent their constituents with their fingers crossed behind their backs. It is shameful and disgusting. If I could, I would love to get off the grid and not care about any of it anymore.

Debunked - anon

That's why Herman Cain is good for President, he isn't interested in lobbyists and unions, and the EPA, he is running pretty much on "the right thing to do".

Outsourcing, Offshoring Debate Jun 26, 2012
This article explains how it is not just offshoring that is detrimental to our jobs.  Outsourcing jobs within the US is becoming increasingly common and leads to lower wages and fewer people with benefits.  Sounds like MTSOs accepting work from big MT companies and then hiring ICs to do the work at low wages with no benefits. ...

Offshoring: Myths and Facts by John MurphyHouse Ways and Means Chairman Sandy Levin (D-Mich.) and Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) will be speaking to the press today about "continued efforts by Democrats to prevent the outsourcing of jobs," The Hill reports. Also today, the AFL-CIO is releasing a database that purports to identify companies that have "shipped jobs overseas."As the November 2 elections loom, it's plain that some hope to turn concern about offshoring of jobs into votes.  But ...

So they (China) want the economy to work and the world to be free and open. And so we can be a partner with China. We don't have to be an adversary in any way, shape or form. What Happened To The End Of Offshoring Act? Jun 13, 2017
There is no greater contempt for Americans than to offshore our jobs to China and India, and then award these companies who do it with big government contracts paid by the American taxpayers.  What happened to the NAFTA renegotiations?  What happened to the 35% penalties promised?  Over 60 executive orders signed during the first 100 days and Trump has the power to do this, but does not.  What gives?  He campaigned on this promise.  Is this another campaign pro ...

My Take On The Debate. SmOct 14, 2015
I was struck last night by the huge difference in what we can infer about the nature of Bernie's and Hillary's thought processes while they were processing the challenging questions that Anderson Cooper threw out at them individually. Hillary's demeanor reminded me of one of those canned Miss America Pageant contestant types whom you can tell is so focused on searching her memory bank for a previously stored 'good answer' that the importance of the issue itself was tota ...

Diaper Debate...Sep 17, 2011
Okay, so here it is. I have a very good friend who is expecting. She wants to start buying diapers now so she has a few packs/boxes to start with when the baby arrives. Sh ...
