A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
are trying to get passed. I wonder if the Dems that are holding out to protect labor are thinking about MTs at all? Because we sit in the US and it is already happening, they might not consider us at risk, but perhaps there might be some loose language in it that could be intepreted in our favor and help us.
I don't think it would do much good to call a repubican representative, but a democrat even if it isn't your state, might be interested in adding us and our needs to their list.
It's too bad we aren't organized, and the closest thing in this industry that is just preys off of us. This would have been the perfect opportunity to get our voices/story at least heard so we show up on anybody's radar, which I doubt we do, now. It might be something as simple as changing the wording to include telecommuting, document preparation, digital, transcription, PHI, maybe a wide generalization of what would constitute damaged by offshore outsourcing or I don't know what else, which would keep a foot in the door for us before it closes and we are the only labor left out. I'm secretly pulling for huge import tariffs but I don't think that is what this bill is all about. ;)
