Here we are almost 50 years later and Medicare is a normal fact of life for all citizens over 65, rich and poor alike. The naysayers were there back then too. It just never got as far as the Supreme Court.

If possible, Medicare recipients also should have a supplemental policy to cover the things that Medicare does not pay for. Medicare is not a freeby. I pay almost $300 a month for full coverage, along with a yearly co-pay.

Since he had a very serious heart condition, the other policy was far superior to Medicare in regards to coverage. Too bad that is seldom the case anymore and likely to be a thing of the past sooner than laer. I am very aware of the laws, thank you.

The credit also can be paid in advance to a taxpayer’s insurance company to help cover the cost of premiums. On May 18, 2012, the IRS issued final regulations which provide guidance for individuals who enroll in qualified health plans through Exchanges and claim the premium tax credit, and for Exchanges that make qualified health plans available to individuals and employers."
Anybody out there have a problem with claiming a generous new tax CREDIT? If so, you could always opt out (just like governors in states of denial), refuse to claim it and tell Obama to "take this tax credit and shove it." It's entirely up to you.
