Twitches in face, ongoing for some time

I have been to physicians, neurologists, and the like for the twitches in my face. They have been on 1 side and the other. Had botox 1 time, the only thing that did was to cause 1 side of my face to droop, not a good thing. Hubby is telling me that calcium and magnesium would be a good thing. Has anyone had anything like this and what helped you out. TIA;

[ In Reply To ..]I do not know if this is what is causing your problem, but I have that problem from time to time and it is caused by fluids in the face. For me, it is usually allergies. I use compresses to relax the face muscles (hot or cold, I like ice) and also drain my sinus by hanging my head upside down over the end of my bed for about 5 minutes a couple times a week. Since you have already seen a doctor and they did not help, I hope this does.

[ In Reply To ..]On occasion, I have twitching of my eyelids. It seems to be related to anxiety. Drinking coffee also seems to make it worse. I don't know if that is due to the dehydration caused by the coffee, or due to the caffeine itself. I've also taken an herb called Black Cohosh for muscle aches and pains and this may have helped with the eyelid twiching as well.

[ In Reply To ..]You probably need the magnesium, not necessarily the calcium. Magnesium is good for stress and it is the electrolyte your body uses to relax your muscles, whereas calcium is used to contractd them. A lot of times if your calcium/magnesium ratio is too high on the calcium side, you will have the twitching.
