Vacationing and celebrating the hardships people face

Big differences:

A lot has been discussed below regarding vacations and comparisons, so thought I’d do a bit of my own research and here is what I’ve found. 

Here is what is wrong:

The Obama’s incessant vacations in times where the country is suffering is just wrong and sends the wrong message not only to the people of this country, but to the world.  the country is not on the upslope.  We are facing some serious problems.  We are facing bankruptcy, unemployment rising, people are losing their jobs, homes, insurance, everything and he decides to keep going on more vacations, and not low key ones.  While they tell the country we need to sacrifice (and told to take a “staycation”) they take elaborate vacations, and not just one.  The difference I found when looking up Bush’s vacations and Obama’s vacations are pretty clear.  When the country suffered Bush did not go on a vacation, and if he was on a vacation he ended it to get back to the office, and Laura would come with him.  Unfortunately, Obama likes to celebrate the suffering of so many Americans and the failing of the country by going on a vacation.  And at that he’s not content to take a low profile vacation like to Camp David, maybe take the girls on a sightseeing trip of the United States (Delaware and other states are full of history), no, he has to have high profile $1000 a night (and up) vacations that are costing the Americans more in taxes.  They once stated "we don't give each other Christmas gifts.  We go to Hawaii".  Well O's, you mean you take the taxpayers money to go to Hawaii.  You don't pay for it yourselves.  

Do we have a right to say anything?  OF COURSE WE DO.  It is our tax money that is being spent for their pleasure.  They need to take a little bit of their own advice and take a “staycation” just like they tell us to do.  That is called “leading by example”.  They need to become a little more humble and act like the servants to the people that they are.  ALL presidents are (he is no different than any other president when they accept the position).  They are supposed to be our servants, not the other way around.

How many vacations do you think FDR took during WWII? How many did President Bush take after WTC attacks? This country is facing more crisis's than any other in recent memory. It requires a president who sets an example for the rest of the country. President Obama is supposed to be our leader. He simply doesn't understand he is not a community organizer any longer. When most Americans are unable to take vacations, he goes to the beach to have fun with his family.”

“Obama's attitude needs to change toward his job as a part-time President. Obama needs to just do his job. That is plain and simple as I can make it. It is not only about timing that is a problem for his vacation time. It is about appearances as well. He gives off the notion he is an elitist, a snob of the highest order. He is so much above it all. Obama is in love with himself. There were many people who were in love with him in 2008. That was then, this is now. President Obama needs to stop fiddling while America burns.”

As if it is not bad enough that he boasts around spending tax payers dollar for his pleasure, Michelle has now taken it upon herself in her Marie Antoinette attitude to take separate vacations and continuous ones.  People have commented that she needs to detox herself from this addiction.  The tax payers dollars are not supposed to be for her own personal pleasure gratification.

Spain - cost tax payers over $467,585.

Hawaii – over $100,000 (just so she could leave a couple days before her husband).

Aspen – $1 million.

Africa – $432,142.  In which MO listed her daughters as “Senior Staffers”.  Two problems with that.  1.) They are not old enough.  2.) She provided false information on an official document.  But at least this way she wouldn’t have to pay for their share of the ticket, why pay for something you should pay for when you can get the tax payers who are going hungry and losing their homes pay for your pleasure.

Martha’s Vineyard – She cost the tax payers $100,000 to leave a couple hours before her husband.  And she did this even after she was criticized for doing it in Hawaii.  Is she really that stupid that she cannot learn a lesson.

This is not why we pay taxes, so she can take it and self-gratificate herself. 

No wonder why they are now being called the Kardashians of DC.

There are other factors that go into all this:

1. All that jet-setting can’t be good for the environment.
2. She should not be spending our tax money on herself without her husband being there.
3. All presidents take vacation time and deserve it, but not on this scale.

Most importantly, this is a time of unrest for the American people.  While the Obama’s are spending our money frivously, American’s are losing their jobs, homes, retirement, health insurance, children’s programs are being cut, and now children with pre-existing conditions will not be covered under the healthcare bill, all while they continue to celebrate and show the whole country just how lavish their vacations are. 

It’s a really pretty simple concept really, if you want to go on vacation, you pay for it yourselves.  OUR tax money is supposed to be for defense programs, social security payments, Medicare/Medicaid, support programs for families facing hardships, the debt, and other programs for the country and people.  OUR tax money is not supposed to be so you can go sip on expensive vodka in $2000 a night hotel rooms and go to the beach and gallivanting all over the world.  You want to do that, you pay for it.  Live within your means.  Some families take one vacation a year and most families can’t even afford that.  Why?  Because instead of being able to save our money for a vacation for ourselves we are sending it in in the form of higher taxes, which is being stolen to self gratificate yourself.  You want to go on a date night, YOU pay for your date night.  YOU pay for all your “bling”.  That’s not why we pay taxes.  It's no different than what is going on in other countries where they just come in and take what is not theirs.

Do something good for this country, instead of yourselves Mr. & Mrs. O.  You are not entitled to take our hard working money and spend it on your monthly vacations.  It’s high time you are held accountable for your actions.  Stay at home and show you have some compassion for the people of the country.
