I have an aversion to feet, especially ugly,

calloused, fungi-infected man-feet. I hate typing reports that involve foot care. I don't mind nice feet but these feet that people present to doctors and NPs are just waaaay too ugly. Cracked, swollen, peeling, ingrown nails, fungus, sub-ungual debris. Yuck yuck and yuck again.

I bet if you went to a country club and announced that you hate typing reports on woman getting liposuction, you would find yourself ostracized.

I had to wear Buster Brown shoes when I was growing up - they were brown and fuzzy, big in the toes - and a boy named Ernest bullied me about my feet. My mom's family had a history of having ingrown toenails and I had that problem too. By the time I was in the 5th grade, I had three surgeries to remove my big toe nails. On the day after the third surgery (which was done to permanently remove my big toe nails), Ernest cornered me in a room and stomped on top of my feet - and laughed.

Your prejudiced post reminds me so much of that bully from my childhood. I hope your perfect feet get mangled in some horrid accident and you get to go to a podiatrist for the rest of your life. Yuck yuck and yuck again. Karma for you.

I too had the same surgery you had to remove the matrix of my big toenails at the age of 8 because of ingrown toenails. These were caused by not being able to afford proper fitting shoes while growing up and cramming my feet into too small shoes. I too was bullied because of this by peers and also family members. I was so self-conscious I never went barefoot or wore sandals until my adult years. I cannot afford pedicures, etc. but do care for my feet and try my best to make them attractive if other people must be exposed to them. Polish, scrubs, cuticle care make all the difference in the world and even get compliments from time to time. If you don't have toe nails there are glue-on nails at Walmart or drug stores to help with that stigma. A little effort can go a long way to help your self-esteem. Take it from someone who knows. Sorry if you were offended.

I know an older woman who had the same ordeal. She has all kinds of problems now. nm - red dawn

Was watching Here Comes Honey Boo Boo (don't ask me why, God help me) and it was the episode where they were all at the waterpark and the mom (whatever her name is) pulled off her sock to show her foot that she is embarrassed about and always covers up. She had something fall on her foot and mess it up or something. Anyway, her toenail was pushed in and down and angled and it had little black bugs crawling all over it. I flipped the channel immediately but I could not unsee it. I gagged. I'm a horror movie lover and laugh at scary movies but this made me almost throw up. For real. Yeah that's gross!

I have cracked heels that bleed and hurt extremely bad. I also have cracking up the outside of my foot as well. I have used foot fungus creams and sprays. I have used that Miracle Foot Repair and many, many different lotions and moisturizers. I use a callus shaver to shave the hard dry skin off my heels and then moisturize, but it doesn't help at all. I am reaching out to my fellow MT's to ask what to do about my cold feet. This time of year my feet get extremely cold while I type all day. I have never typed in shoes, and really cannot because I can't feel the difference in the pedals. If I wear shoes I end up backspacing or forwarding all the time. I have no idea where to go to get some help for myself. I have tried every single speciality that I thought perhaps could help but this has been going on for over 10 years now and no help. Does anyone else have this problem. I can not stand it. My hands and feet and nose are so cold. I have socks and slippers on. In fact, my right foot is much colder than my left and is painful cold. I went with whomever it was that suggested Surgeon's Secret. I bought some of that. Plus I bought a pair of "Heelies" which are these little heel socks that have a gel lining along the heel that infuse minerals and oils into your skin.
