My neighbor recently has added to her pets, getting a new cat. I know her other cat, I have seen it sometimes on my patio but pretty much keeps to itself. The new cat runs to my door every time my husband comes home, really wants to come in, very sweet and affectionate. The other night I started out after 8 going to the store and the cat was extermely close to my garage, instead of being scared the cat was trying to go into the garage. When I first saw the cat I posted as to who it belonged to, at my door at night, cold outside and got a terse note on our neighborhood bulletin about the cat belonged to "your neighbor, it has a warm place in the garage and likes to be inside/outside cat." I live in an HOA. Animals are not supposed to be outside running around. If I said something to the manager in the neighborhood her response would be to call animal control.
What worries me is the fact I travel myself and do not want the responsibility of having to recheck each and every tme I leave my home. Sometimes I am gone the entire weekend. My husband does not do animals, ever. If he were to hear the cat in the garage I am certain he would open the garage for it to go out but he would not pick the animal up. With the note I received from the neighbor, I am not sure she is going to be receptive to my showing up at her door asking her to restrain her cat but certainly do not want to be looked at as a kittynapper. What to do?
