Anti-gun rights people think the criminals on the street will then be out of work. But if people are legally armed, those said criminals will think twice about their targets. Peaceful protesting is perfectly peachy. The point is, no one is protesting at NRA rallies. Go figure.

The gun lobby is extremely stupid for using this kind of rhetoric. What purpose does it serve to remind us that guns are a great way to quell dissension and force compliance? Is this a good way to build consensus?

You would think they would have the sense to develop a rational case for gun ownership instead of acting like a bunch of yahoos - which ought to be the stereotype they seek to disspell rathern than affirm.
