First time you saw your Hubby to be?

Posted: Jan 27, 2011

My first Hubby I saw washing a car with his then girl friend lol!

My second was a picture of him eating an ice cream cone.

What about you?

;

Wish I would not have seen him at all.... - mad as heck today

Today, I wish there were such a thing as renewable marriage certificiates!

I think I would love to trade mine in for a newer version today, maybe would get buyers remorse, but that is just a chance I am willing to take.

I met my "husband to be" in high school, dated for years, dated others as well, then eventually married x18 years now. But...am sick of his behavior, sick of dealing with his BS, really wonder if I would be better off single.

but didn't date or get married for years and years. We went to prom together as friends. I am sure glad that I didn't pick out my mate in high school because I would have passed on the keeper and ended up with a real piece of work--and I'm glad he was willing to wait so long!

Yesterday was our 26th anniversary. - Met him in college

[ In Reply To ..]
Saw him the very first day of my freshman year at college. I was just 18 years old and he was a 21-year-old senior. He was sitting in the student lounge with friends. He was 6-feet, 3-inches tall and 152 pounds; and I didn't find him the least bit attractive. He looked like he had just escaped from a prison camp! We ran in the same circle of friends for that year, and then he graduated. I'd see him occasionally at parties and such, and then one day 2 years later I got a call from him and he asked me for date. Turns out he was interested in me for 2 years and was just too shy to ask me out. Three years later we were married, and so here we are today, 30 years after meeting for the first time.

My second husband is my ex-fiance. Shoulda stuck with him the first time. LOL

He hasn't made an appearance yet! If you see my hubby to be, let me know. I'm 50 years old with 2 kids (1 bio and 1 adopted) and never married, so I guess I should probably stop looking.

At the gas station - Smitten

[ In Reply To ..]
I needed to get gas so I pulled into the nearest station (in my town but I had never been in there before). A freak storm with wind and dark skies broke loose out of nowhere, so I ran into the building to pay for my gas and saw the hottest guy sitting behind the counter. We made small talk for a few minutes but I was on my way to pick up my daughter and with that weird storm I didn't want to waste any time, so I hustled out to pump my gas. I called my daughter to tell her I was on my way and had stopped to get gas, and told her there was THE hottest guy working inside. She told me to go back inside and talk to him, but I told her about the storm and that I'd make a mental file of him working there and stop back by sometime.

Fast forward 2 years and he's now her stepfather and is sitting on the couch watching Million Dollar Listing.

We tease each other about that freak storm coming out of nowhere was a sign that worlds were getting ready to collide, LOL!

Set up - Jewel

[ In Reply To ..]
We were set up by a mutal friend. I worked with this friend and my now hubby was buddies with him from high school. Our friend bugged me daily about meeting his buddy and I kept saying no, no, no. It got so annoying I finally just said fine just so he'd quit bothering me. They both came over to my place one night and we hit it off! He asked for my number and after our first date I remember telling my sister I would marry him right then if he asked me!! Five years later I did.

At this time I was 19, had a baby and was dealing with my sons dad on a daily basis which was not fun at all. I had asked our mutual friend before I starting dating my now hubby what he thought about me having a kid and he told him, "if she's worth it, it doesn't matter" Guess *we* were worth it, he is a great dad to my son!! :)

When he arrived at my military unit overseas - just me

...even though my husband has been in a nursing home for the last four years with advanced Alzheimer's. I was his boss' secretary at the time we met, and he was just coming back to our office after working in another country for several years. I finally had to ask him out as he had just gotten custody of his teenage son and was, of course, otherwise occupied, not to mention that he is 18 years older than me. But when you meet the right one, age is not an issue. The 25 years have flown by so quickly, but he is my soulmate, and I know one day I will see him again in Heaven, happy and whole, and that's what keeps me going. Love each other and don't let life get in your way. You never know when it might be taken away.

I can't imagine how hard that is... - Kendra

I am sorry to you both for the years that are being taken away from you!

Thanks, Kendra. I visit him as much as I can... - lms

...and his smile still lights up my world. He loves cookies so I take him some whenever I go. I want to do all I can for him. I know he would do the same for me. It is hard, but knowing it's temporary and someday he will be whole again, along with all the prayers from family/friends, keeps me going.
He is so lucky to have someone like you... - Kendra

You have my prayers, for sure. I hope that I am lucky enough to still have that kind of a bond with my husband many years down the road! :)

It was really cold and really rainy - ZonedOut

and a friend of mine wanted me to meet him, she thought we could "hit it off." I just got out of class at college and he was waiting for me outside the building, all wet in nothing but a flimsy hoodie. I felt bad for him right then and there. We went out to lunch to Denny's and really hit it off. To top it all off, I had recently died my hair black a few months before, and hated it, so I was growing it out. My hair was half black, half brown and it was horrible! But he stuck around anyway!

Now, almost 7 years later, we've been happily married for 5 years with a beautiful daughter and another little one on the way!

Met at Pizza Hut. He was a cook and I was a waitress sm - SC

PWP is not usually a place to meet a mate - too many angry, lonely people - but we were both in the right place at the right time. We'll be celebrating our silver anniversary come October!

there (regular guy was sick). I was spending most of the day copying some manuals at the copier and he kept making excuses to walk by and talk to me. I found him quite cute. It would have come to nothing though if I had not asked the regular tech that came in about two months later (also friend of my brother) to find out his name, etc. He passed on my interest to future DH, who asked me to call him that night, which I did and that was it. Together ever since. Will be married 15 years in June, how time flies.

My best friend... - moi

My best friend was dating his brother and kept telling me we had to meet. The first time I saw him, he was pitching at a softball game. He had invited another girl to the game but no one told me so I flirted with him. I ended up stealing him away. We have been married for almost 25 years and have 5 kids.

in art class in 1969. I was a junior, he was a senior. He asked me to go for a Coke after class and I told him he'd have to take me home as I rode the bus. We dated the entire year and married after school was out in August 1969. I did get my GED 12 years later. :) Married 41 years last August.

First saw my hubby in kindergarten - sheepwhisperer

[ In Reply To ..]
Actually I first met my husband in kindergarten and we came from a very small rural area. In 1st grade I moved away and it wasn't until the summer after my freshman year in college that we met again and from that time on we have been together. One time we saw a commerical on TV for the game Operation and at the same time we asked each other if we remembered having played that together when we were 4 or 5 and we even remembered the details of back then. Things like that happen all of the time, both of us remembering things from our young childhood. Our families have known each other for generations and we will be celebrating our 24th this May (I never would have thought.....)

Need Hubby AdviceNov 30, 2009
I really need some help here and this is the only place to get it fast.  My husband and I are separated.  I caught him having "affair" at work, he was paying for some lady at work's car repairs, and sabotaged my daughter's attempt to work in this lady's department, along with lots and lots of lies and secrets and covering up.  Short story, when confronted, he moved out and filed for divorce (and, of course is blaming me for the whole thing, saying I kicked him out - ...

Hubby On Night ShiftApr 22, 2010
My hubby just recently switched back to 12-hour night shifts.  Lately I have been putting a sticky note on the doorbell during the day that says, "Please do not ring doorbell until after 2 p.m."  The other day I was told that this was rude by a neighbor.  Can you believe that? If they need to get ahold of me bad enough, they can call my cell. I feel like I have to constantly protect hubby's sleep time and our family time now, not to mention be left alone to do my job.  ...

Every year at Christmas my hubby is able to take two weeks off, which is wonderful for him but is beginning to stink for me.  By the time his vacation is over I will be extremely resentful towards him and I hate that.  In years past he has always done everything he can to help me out while I am working, cleaning the house, wrapping presents, picking up little odd and end gifts, etc.  However, this year all he has done is lay on the couch and sleep after sleeping until 11:00 every ...

Let me give some background on this guy. He is a very shy, not wanting to have surprises, do not buy him anything stay in the background type of person. Every one of them has serious flaws, either of character, personality, world view, experience, or philosophy - and in most cases more than one of these - that I simply cannot stomach. In my experience, it's always a choice between the lesser of two evils, but this election cycle seems to have brought out a spectacularly miserable collection of candidates.  And yes, Sanders and Trump supporters, I mean them too - or perhaps especially them too. It looks like I'll be sitting on my ...
