Easy "Cobbler Type" Recipie

This is for a crockpot/slow cooker

1 can pie filling

6-8 tbsp butter or margarine

1 box yellow cake mix.

In crockpot, add pie filling on botttom

Add cake mix and dab butter around cake mix

Cook on hgh 4-6 hours or on low 8 hours -- it makes like a cobbler that you could serve warm with vanillia ice cream on top

do you just throw the cake mix in unmixed onto something like apple pie filling, no liquid? I just saw another recipe on You Tube for Crock Pot pizza which I am dying to try as well.

Yes. pie filling on bottom, dry cake mix and butter - no liquid. I have a Ninja slow cooker, a bit bigger than a regular "crockpot," so I added a bit more butter/margarine.

You can do the same thing in the oven in about 30 minutes. For that version, just put half of the cake mix (my mom used white) over the bottom of a pan (butter it first), spoon the pie filling over it, and top with the rest of the cake mix. Dot with butter. Bake at around 325 until it is bubbly and crunchy.

To turn the oven on generates a lot of heat. A crockpot/slow cooker doesn't :)

I live up North where the seasons change so I will probably try cooking it both ways. I think the yellow cake mix would be good with peach pie filling and the white with blueberry...yum!

I'm in SWFL and we only use our oven when we get a cold snap. Free heat! Otherwise, we put everything on the grill--baked ziti, lasagne, whatever, in the baking dish on the grill.

And what is with this weather, anyway? Only going up to 60s on T'giving day. We usually eat outdoors T'giving!

I'm between Arcadia and Punta Gorda -- tell me about the weather. The place where I live no furnace so yep, using the oven. Thank HEAVENS power is included in the rent -- LOL.

I am originally from IL and my family pretty much grills year round. My dad and brothers in law have the top Weber grills and grill regardless of the amount of snow on the ground :)

Right now, other than the chill, loving this weather. Do my laundry and hang the clothes on the clothesline.

my mom used a large Pyrex bowl and put half the yellow or white cake mix in bottom of dish, then pears or peach slices in either light or heavy syrup then the other half of the cake mix, melt butter and pour over top. Bake for 30-45 minutes at 325 until bubbly and crunchy.

Can you do this with Bisquick in the oven or crockpot? - nm

A variation of this is a devils food cake mix, butter and cherry pie filling, adding if you like some chocolate morsels scattered in the cake mix. It makes a very rich and decadent dessert in the crock pot.

Our 10 year old golden retriever, Sam, has started grooming our 7 year old golden, Luke - with a vengeance! He can literally lie there and lick Luke for up to an hour or two at a time. I prefer very soft rolls. I like a certain type from the store that are just cheap little things but they are so good. (probably really bad for me but it's Thanksgiving after all). Somehow I got into the habit of doing this years ago and now I can't type with both feet on the ground anymore. I have a really easy, quick recipe. It's sort of Sloppy Joes, but my own version. Brown chopped meat in a skillet.
