Does this seem a little off to you? On Monday the class made tye-dye shirts, which are supposed to be worn on Friday for a field trip. Okay. Fine. Now we, the parents, are being told that the shirts will not be sent home prior to the trip and the children will be required to change shirts in school prior to leaving for the trip. Why? Why on earth won't they send the shirts home Thursday? I have a little girl and I am very uncomfortable with the fact she is being forced to change clothes in school. We aren't being told if they are to change in private or infront of teachers/other students, nothing. I just get a bad feeling about this. I'm considering keeping my daughter home from school the day of the trip. What do you all think?
;Were you told before they made the T-Shirts or has your daughter told you WHAT is on the T-Shirts? Is there anything else besides the tye-dye on the shirt? Do you know where the field trip is to? Anything controversial about the destination?
You did not mention what grade your daughter is in. Does she already have to change for gym or other “exercise” classes (I do not have grade-school age children anymore and school systems have changed so much recently, I am not even sure if they have gym class anymore)? If they already change clothes in school for whatever reason, I am sure they will take proper steps to ensure privacy and decorum.
I do not want to start any “conspiracy” theories here, but the West Coast is famous for trying to make political statements using our children. This has become a hot topic with the new Arizona Immigration Law. Cities and States banning students from traveling to Arizona for scheduled tournaments, etc. They banned the students from selling T-shirts at one Wisconsin school because of the controversy (article link below).
Like I said, I am not trying to start any conspiracy, but I would definitely want to know what is on the T-Shirt and where they are going. If that satisfies you, then I am sure everything will be fine and totally harmless.
Let us know what you find out. Maybe Fox News would be interested if there is a possible controversy there. LOL
