Another Odoesn'tcare delay. He's changing the law

Posted: Mar 4, 2014

We can only hope people see through this.  Heaven knows they've had enough time.  They can't all be stupid - can they?

There is nothing he can do that will make his devoted sheep wake up and face reality. They will follow him over the cliff, singing his praises all the way down. He has taken us down the slippery slope, and we're getting closer and closer to the point of no return. This mid-term election is more important than ever.

no, we just don't know what the OP is talking about -

More changes to obamaSCARE with his mighty pen.
They are proposals. Nothing done yet, but here's a link - for everyone

"One proposed change would be to pressure insurers to increase the size of medical provider networks offered to their customers. The other would be to allow people insured by plans that are no longer compliant with ACA standards to maintain that coverage through 2016."

These look like good changes for the consumer, but the insurers are not liking it from what I glean from this article. Moody's predicts credit negative for insurers.

The article I linked to below and an excerpt quoted above is from February, though.

The only recent things I could find are from opinion/conservative sites. From Fox News:
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/03/04/administration-reportedly-will-extend-obamacare-keep-your-plan-fix/
Published March 04, 2014
FoxNews.com

"The Obama administration is preparing to announce a new delay in the health care law's implementation that would allow insurers to continue offering health plans that do not meet ObamaCare's minimum coverage requirements.

President Obama, under pressure over widespread health plan cancellations, offered a solution in November allowing Americans to keep their current insurance policies for another year, even if their plans didn't meet the minimum standards."

I guess even if he tries to please or make good on what is characterized (correctly) as misinformation, he's criticized, further reinforcing the fact that it doesn't matter what he does, it's who he is. Nothing will ever please the RW.

Translation: We can't lose any more votes in November. They are going to lose their current health care plan, but make sure it's after they have voted for the Democratic candidate in November. That gives us 8 months to rake some voters back in before we hit them again.....

This will apparently all be uncovered next week. It gives the left a bit of time to prepare a diversionary strategy.

If you read the news then maybe you would know - pretty obvious - headlines all over

"Let's just be honest -- the Republican criticism is that the president is taking into account the need to lessen disruptions to small businesses and employers?" Sperling said incredulously, speaking to a group of reporters at a breakfast organized by the Christian Science Monitor.

"Do you have any question that had he not made those adjustments, that the criticism would be coming from completely the other direction? So I find it unusual that the president goes out of his way and the team goes out of its way to have a smoother transition to new policies with less disruption for small businesses, and Republicans are complaining about that," Sperling added. "The only thing consistent about that position is that they consistently look for every possible way to criticize the ACA."

I just saw this. I posted above. Thanks for the link! - I suppose

we were hoping this was going to go off without a hitch, but the reality is, it did not. Such a huge undertaking and then with a lot of red states deciding not to do right by their citizens and extend Medicaid, thereby making things more complicated, has a huge built-in risk of a lot going wrong.

But what has always baffled me is Obama didn't undertake reforming healthcare with malicious intent or to disregard the needs of Americans. It was to provide a vehicle to allow all Americans healthcare. Why should being well, getting well, and staying well be a luxury? It's a policy that reaches out to all Americans. Why do Reps paint this equitable, fair, and in the spirit of all men are created concept as a bad thing? I guess they'd rather further the bash Obama agenda than do their jobs.

Mom Changing When RemarriedNov 02, 2011
Has anyone else had a mom or dad get remarried and change DRASTICALLY. My mom got remarried several months ago. She is DIFFERENT. Her friends have said they noticed a big change. I definitely have. She used to be a regular church goer. She stopped that. He doesn't go so I guess that's why. She used to cook Sunday dinner every week. She no longer cooks for her kids anymore. That used to be important to her to cook for her kids once a week, even if told not to bother. She stop ...

Moms ChangingSep 17, 2012
Has anyone experienced this with their mom?  She remarried a year and a half ago, and she is a different person.  She quit going to church, she dyed her hair, lost weight, doesn't want friends just him, tans now, acts younger.  He is a greedy, stingy person and now she is too and she was NEVER stingy.  She acts like she is better than other people now.  She gets an attitude when she was never like that especially with me.  She is basically someone I don't ...

Changing Careers -- Dispatching?Feb 28, 2012
Recently there was a poster here celebrating her new position as a dispatcher for her state police.  That particularly got my attention because she is making $36K per year plus benefits AND a former coworker of mine (MT) left to go to work for our sheriff's office doing the same thing. I have been looking online for dispatcher jobs, and here are some of my thoughts: Doing 911/EMS stuff is not my cuppa tea.  WAY too stressful! I would think that sheriff's office and/or stat ...

Changing The Channel On Congress.May 12, 2017
watching the Senate intelligence committee hearings Thursday morning, I got so frustrated I started looking for a good cartoon show. What's so aggravating about these staged Congressional hearings is that you know what the Republicans and the Democrats are going to say before you even turn on the TV. Changing Clothes In School For A Trip May 25, 2010
Does this seem a little off to you?  On Monday the class made tye-dye shirts, which are supposed to be worn on Friday for a field trip.  Okay.  Fine.  Now we, the parents, are being told that the shirts will not be sent home prior to the trip and the children will be required to change shirts in school prior to leaving for the trip.  Why?  Why on earth won't they send the shirts home Thursday?  I have a little girl and I am very uncomfortable with the fact ...

During The 2-month Spending Cuts Delay, "discretionary"Jan 02, 2013
This is a little long, but I only posted part of it here. The first part explains the discretionary and mandatory spending terms. It then goes on to discuss the budget reduction and national deficit issues at stake when Congress tackles them in march. He was also Sec of Commerce in the Nixon administration.  ...

Changing The Social Paradigm Without Political OppressionOct 04, 2012
Seeing the constant, raging debate in this country day after day I've been thinking a lot about the futility of political change.  True change in the system of politics is both unlikely to happen and potentially ineffective even if it did.  The problem as I see it is that the American culture is now one of endemic greed.  My observation of the rich is that - despite their behavior as soulless, heartless sociopaths - they appear to be identical to poor people, except that they ...
