At least 3 killed in Austria after man drives into crowd

The man has been arrested after injuring more than 30 people. A seven-year-old boy is reportedly among the three people killed in Austria by a man who ploughed his car into crowds in the country’s second-largest city and then reportedly started stabbing people. A witness told the Wiener Zeitung newspaper that dead bodies were left lying face down in the road after the vehicle sped through streets near the the historical Herrengasse in Graz. The killing only stopped when the driver parked his battered car outside a police station. ;

Because it's not working. We're not distracted off a racially-motivated shooting that killed 9 African-Americans by a murderer who admitted race was his motivation.

At least the Charleston shooting is relevant to US Politics and/or world politics.

PS - I welcome other political discussion, I'm just saying IMO, bringing up "other crime around the world" and "gun control" (which were already discussed ad nauseum below) is both incredibly insensitive to the victims' families and wildly inappropriate for a nation in mourning.

There have ALWAYS been "evil acts." You are just more aware of them now because the internet makes it possible for you to know.

You will continue to see evidence of "the end times", or whatever you believe, in this because that is what you were primed to believe. If your church told you it was the result of Mickey Mouse, you would believe that, too.

I don't think there is any meaningful increase in people being inumane to one another. In recent years we've simply had much more active and immediate (and alarmist) news sources. And many news outlets have become driven by generating as many clicks as possible, so they're ever more desperate for grabby headlines.

Also, in past generations many communities kept negative events quiet even among local populations, rather than put them on the news.

Consider - used to be if a teenage girl became pregnant, her family might whisk her off to some aunt or home for girls or what have you, and her name wouldn't even be whispered. Today, they get several together and give them a TV show.

I've read stories and articles from the early days of this country that said the exact same thing you are: "things are getting worse and worse, doom is nigh". But in fact, for the most part things have gotten better, and continue to.
