The report I read was not recent. Gun laws change over time.

Another fact: Most children and teens killed daily are part of the drug culture and/or are gang members. That's something that must be considered. Sad to say but not all children and teens are innocent.

Adult gang members realized about 10-15 years ago that kids under 18 would get a slap on the wrist for criminal acts and that's when they started to actively pull these kids into their circle with all kinds of promises for getting rich.

Where did most Hip Hop and Rappers start out? They brag that they were drug dealers. They brag about murder. They are idolized by kids because of all the gold they wear and all the fame and fortune they have.

What do you do about those kids?

your post was the only one that made me crack a fleeting smile. I was relieved to realize that my sense of humor was not completely dead. I'm usually more tolerant that this when it comes to distractions, but since Friday, I've lost a lot of sleep, having been especially worried about a friend of mine I've not been able to establish contact with whose daughter accidentally committed suicide, playing around with a gun years ago. Just can't imagine what this is doing to her, so I'm planning to take the out-of-town trip to her house so I can check in with her.

when are people going to wake up and see that we need help with is MENTAL ILLNESS, not gun control, and I DO NOT LIKE GUNS, so don't think I am pro-gun, because I am not. Again, this is a MENTAL HEALTH issue, and THAT is what the focus should be on...helping those with mental health issues. Gun control will solve NOTHING if mental health continues to be IGNORED!
