Wondering if anyone else has had this experience

I recently said on another board I was glad I did not have any friends because no one can say do it for the kids. Well, when I talk about my anxiety and depression, I get very sick and tired of people saying it is because I do not have enough faith. Believe me, I do. Or I did anyway. I have asked to be filled with the holy spirit. I have begged for a miracle. Not sure what else to do, but it is CHEMICAL. Has nothing to do with faith.

When I switched to Lexapro, I was nauseous for two whole weeks and then it abated. It felt like morning sickness. I hope you find some relief soon. Depression is the pits.

God operates on His time, not ours. He may be testing you. My pastor says about suffering: Just make sure it is NOT deserved. This surprised me! But it was said: "For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of UNJUST suffering, because they are conscious of God. But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But IF YOU SUFFER FOR DOING GOOD AND YOU ENDURE IT, THIS IS COMMENDABLE BEFORE GOD." 1 Peter 2:19-20 (emphasis is mine)

First...try some guided meditation. Meditating brings inner peace and your soul closer to God. It also opens the pathways emotionally to help heal yourself. I do this, but not often enough, and it does help lift the dark spots in ones life. Make sure you meditate from a trusted source though, one in tune with God and nothing else.

second....PRAISE God daily. He listens better to your prayers if you praise him instead of "asking for things." Here is a quote:

Don’t be afraid to remain small in your own eyes, humility is a virtue discarded by far too many; make it a priority in your life. and lastly...practice GRATITUDE daily. be grateful for the things you DO have in your life, no matter how small. THANK God for those things and soon you will see your troubles dissipating from your life, your mental and emotional difficulties lifting to a higher spirit.

God likes to hear that you appreciate the things he DOES give you. He does not like to be asked of things when there is no appreciation in return.

trust me. this works! but it has to be regular and it has to be heartfelt...from the soul...from the heart. Mean what you say to Him.

have absolutely no relation to your faith. Faith is a personal thing, not one size fits all. Nobody has the right to question your faith or your lack thereof. You must find your own way.

Regarding medication, finding the right medication and the right doctor can be a real frustrating trial and error procedure. After much trial and error I use a combination of antidepressant and marijuana. I also have RA and a lot of pain which exacerbates the anxiety. I only take NSAIDs for pain and that in combination with the marijuana works well for my pain and anxiety. Usually a combination approach works best, support system, medication, meditation, etc. Good luck to you!

why there are any dislikes. This is all great advice!! Thank you all!! Oh meant to answer the person who asked if I gave it more than 2 weeks...no way!! Why in the world would I put myself through the extreme nausea for 2 weeks straight?

Couldn't your doctor give you an anti-emetic to take with the antidepressant that makes you nauseous? At least for a couple of weeks (you might get used to it by then). If you can't find an antidepressant that doesn't make you nauseous, then you should definitely ask for an anti-emetic. Good luck to you.

I am being alienated from my son by his horrible father. Divorced him 10 years ago and he has been pulling stunts since. I am just devastated of course. It has been almost a full year. My father passed away this past week, he took his own life. He was 75 years old and in bad physical shape and constant pain. His nightmare was that he would be put into a nursing home. I got interested in this after hearing a radio show about fermented foods and the recipe seemed simple, cabbage, salt, let it sit out for 4 weeks or so and there you have it.
