...far too many people buying into "the politics of division and class warfare" rabidly advanced by Obama's opponents, who promote fear instead of courage, paranoia rather than cooperation.

Nothing "threatens the very nature of the American dream" more than the kind of empty rhetoric exemplified in this article, which asserts that the very "soul of America" is at risk.

It's up to you what you buy into. But rest assured, dreams don't come true for those who are more attracted to a nightmare.

has been the most divisive President ever, pitting Republicans against Democrats, blacks and hispanics against whites, rich against middle class and poor, and religions against religions.

Some don't buy into any of the above but be assured, Obama is a nightmare and one most people would like to wake up from.

He is not divisive at all. I respect your opinion, but that is simply untrue.

nothing in your post is reflected in reality. I do not see minorities pitted against whites. I do not see the rich pitted against the rest. I do not see religions fighting each other.

As for the political pitting of republicans vs democrats, this is the way our government works. And when our politicians spend more time on ideology than doing their jobs, it's up to clear-thinking citizens to vote for politicans who are devoted to working for the people, not the party.

I am being alienated from my son by his horrible father. Divorced him 10 years ago and he has been pulling stunts since. I am just devastated of course. It has been almost a full year. My father passed away this past week, he took his own life. He was 75 years old and in bad physical shape and constant pain. His nightmare was that he would be put into a nursing home. He was a fiercely independent man living alone and was at the point of not being able to care for himself. He led a good life and was a very generous man with many friends. I recently said on another board I was glad I did not have any friends because no one can say do it for the kids.
