Please forgive those who destroy the lives of the helpless little ones and those that speak of using coathangers to kill an unborn little child. Strengthen us against the mounting forces of anti-life, enlighten those who walk in this deadly way that they may see the enormity of their sin. Help us never to be silent, passive, and forgetful of the unborn. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

is to try to recover your "image." See, your party is famous for trying to make laws based on religion...not just any religion...but your religion. I find it to be one of the most offensive things in the world. You guys are stead fast in your faith, saying you want to save every life, and yet more people have died as a result of your ever-changing understanding of violent bedtime stories that you call religion than anyone will ever know. But that really isn't why you posted is it? The fact that Liberty chose to bypass the faith and prayer request boards and opted instead to post it here only serves to prove JTBB's point. There is nothing more offensive than party pols and supporters who have the gall to make repeated attempts to legislate their own religious tenets and impose them on the rest of us.

Theocracy is explicitly prohibited in the US Constitution and is roundly condemned by wingers when they perceive it to be encroaching upon their regressive perceptions of what America is and is not. Cases in point abound: Colorado cons hard-headed replays of introducing personhood referendums that have been voted down by their state electorates, a scenario being played out in numerous other states; ridiculous bills across the southern tier trying to prevent Moslems from constructing places of worship in the name of Sharia law fear-mongering; and now we have a VP candidate who has sponsored a veritable smorgasbord of anti-reproductive and family planning rights in the name of a grotesquely distorted version of "good Catholic" sensibilities, while blowing the shrillest of dog whistles, appealing to a base whose unpopular agendas have been soundly rejected time after time in states legislatures nationwide.

The hypocrisy of expressed "small government" party agendas in this regard is simply stunning. None of us who find this decidedly abhorrent and un-American mindset unacceptable will ever stand by in silence and watch masses of American Mullahs and their provincial congregants trample all over our constitution. They and their throwback traditions are persona non grata outside the confines of their own bedrooms, front doors and church pews.

I have a prayer request of my own this morning. Do not pray for me or mine. My "sins" are between me and my maker and are no one else's business, so long as my behaviors are in line with prevailing SECULAR laws of the land.

I'm not telling you anything about where, when, or to whom to pray. I do believe a prayer is shared with God, or with other celebrants. You chose to make your "prayer" public. I am not in favor of using prayer as a political or public device, and I believe it is disrespectful, and yes, duplicitous to do so.
