pets in heaven

i am a severe animal lover, my pets are special to me, and i agree they can touch your heart in ways a human cannot. they do love you unconditionally, and that is a very special thing. i know because i recently lost my 3 pound maltese who was the joy in my life for years. i know i will miss her until i see her in heaven again. i dont feel animals have souls, but i do think God allows them in heaven with us in some sort of way. They teach only humans have souls and you have to have a soul to go to heaven, but i cannot imagine my pets anywhere else.

i saw on TV a few years ago where a teenage girl died temporarily, and when she got to heaven there were white steps and all her pets were sitting on the steps waiting on her. we cant explain everything, but that put me at peace.

My belief is that our pets are in heaven. I believe they do have souls. AT one time, I thought maybe I had been a dog and came back as a human because I felt disjointed from humans and much closer to my dog. Now, I realize that, if reincarnation is true, then only humans need to be reincarnated, generally for more lessons and further spiritual growth. However, animals already have perfect spirits and usually get it right the first time around, don't need reincarnation.

Of course, I am only going according to my own feelings and beliefs. As far as I know, there is no clear-cut evidence regarding whether or not pets have souls, but I'd like to know more about this.

However, I fully expect to see all of my pets in heaven, including dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, one little "rescue" squirrel that lived only a few days, and others.

Thinking about them makes some of the negatives of life more bearable. Thank you.

I wonder about this as well. I've lost dear pets also and can't imagine a loving God not allowing us to be reunited with them in heaven. Love never dies. I used to look into the eyes of my cat and he would look right back into mine while I was talking to him and I felt like he was looking right through to my very soul, the connection was so undeniable. God knows how much they mean to us. You are so right, their love is so very special. My heart goes out to you for missing your dear pet...

A woman had just had a baby and had an amniotic fluid embolism that went to her lung and she clinically died. She said she had no pain. She was in a very peaceful place, just kind of sitting there, feeling so happy and at peace. She said she had no thoughts of her family or even the new baby, just peace. Then, she looked to her side and saw a whole lot of dogs, not even dogs she had known in her life, just dogs, and they were all heading towards a white light. They were wagging their tails, and all she could think of was how much she wanted to follow them, but then she sort of paused, and the next thing she knew she was back in her body and alive. This woman was not even a super pet lover, yet she felt a pull/kinship with them. I know there is an afterlife and all the things we loved will be there.

It wouldn't really be heaven would it? - If our pets were not there.

I can't imagine heaven being perfect if my beloved pets are not there, and I am sure that God knows that. (Indeed, He would have to be deaf, I have told Him so often enough!)

How many animals do you have and how many of those live in your house? We already have 4 dogs and 1 cat in the house, along with several fish and a couple of hamsters. Two of our dogs are small around 15-20 lbs, one is about 30 lbs, and one basset hound at 55 lbs. We are now getting a Rott-lab-St. Bernard mix!!!! What the heck are we thinking? LOL!! My little girl was not feeling well. Took her to the vet and she was in renal failure. She was only 4 years old. Vet tried to help her but we had to put her down yesterday. She was my best friend. Has anyone ever noticed that sometimes elderly people want a dog, cat or bird after a loved one dies? This happened with my MIL. Is it just me or does it seem like the Anthony's had a LOT of pets who died and were buried in the backyard? Our family always had pets growing up, but I don't remember them dying all the time and burying them in the backyard!
