Trump, who has been in a war of words with the 2008 Republican nominee, jibed of McCain: “He’s not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured? Trump does not have to apologize to John McCain. I am sure some of our Veterans feel exactly how Trump feels, especially the ones who are waiting for help and think they will die before they get it. Just because you were in a prison camp (which I know was bad) does not make you a war hero. I get so sick of Democrats turning his statements around and it is sickening. We live in a society where everything has gotten so "politically correct" that when things need to be said we hold back because of repercussions. This is what I like about Donald Trump and as far as I know Obama never had any experience really when he became President, oh yeah he was an activist, lawyer so before we say Donald Trump is not qualified to be president, people need to look deep because I guarantee some of his remarks are felt by a lot of people. I think Cruz is not criticizing Trump because he is betting on monetary support for his campaign, as the only one who stood by him. I don't think Cruz stands a chance either, and Trump is enough of a businessman to see that, last laugh, he won't support him either.

It is SO disappointing that the world has spent any time on this guy and continues to. I wish they would just ignore him and quit saying his name, sort of like the mass killers (don't offer them there day in the sun by repeating their name).

He clearly said "He is not a war hero." and then waffles and says he is a war hero because he got captured (meaning, the only reason anyone thinks he is a war hero, is because of his capture). He also then has to do the petulant "stick a fork in it" comment with "I like people that weren't" [captured].

He also later says he has never asked for God's forgiveness. He just tries harder next time. He supposes eating the little cracker and the wine cleanses himself. He is going to be pretty weak for the Christian Evangelicals, and should be, as he is an opportunist, not a Christian.

Unfortunately, the comment should have been that just because a person was a POW does not necessarily make them a hero. That being said, it is my understanding that some of those captured with McCain tried to address congress on some issues regarding McCain during the time of their internment and they were not allowed to speak. There is much we do not know about this issue.
