about her military service....on the eve of Independence Day, no less. Walsh never served in the military.
This Tea Party darling barely squeaked by in his 2010 8th US congressional district race by a mere 291 votes out of more than 220,000, after having lost two prior bids in 1996 and 1998 by wide margins, in the -25% range. He is one of only 2 republicans to hold that seat since 1932. From the moment he took office, he's gotten into one controvesy after another, consistently involving irresponsible behaviors, temper tantrums and inappropriate rude, boorish outbursts. His district was redrawn after the 2010 census.
I guess he can see his one-term writing on the wall, but for him to have the gall to diss his opponent (along with 23 million other vets) for talking about her military service is beyond the pale. Understandably, veterans are enraged and Vote Vets, a non-partisan Veterans PAC, condemned Walsh's statement and is calling for his resignation.
