not those 3 - they did what was right. I heard someone being interview late last night, before the vote, who said this was risky and like setting the American healthcare system on fire hoping for the House to put it out. I would agree with that. While I think huge changes are needed, I am stumped that after 7 years they have got nothing except get rid of mandates and taxes, but nothing of substance as far as replacement. I think McCain did the right thing. He said without a guarantee that it would not have become law he couldn't vote for it. I wouldn't trust Ryan either if I were him! Maybe he would have been a decent president after all had he beat Obama! The sign of a good politician is one who can buck the system and do what is right for the country - that is what he did last night!

I totally agree with you, and I also agree that McCain would most likely have been a good president. I would have voted for him if Palin hadn't been his veep. Schmidt really let McCain down with that pick, no vetting, etc., and McCain certainly did do the right thing by his no vote. Seems that McCain and Graham and Collins are the only ones left with any regard at all for the country instead of their precious parties. We need many more like them.
