"That 9/11 thing"

I cannot believe the chill I feel after reading this.

Muslim leader who called Israel ‘suspect’ after 9/11 attends WH summit - sm

Yup, they're out there.

And they criticize the birthers? - SM

[ In Reply To ..]
Can you imagine what life in America will be like in another 20 years if things continue in the same vein? God help us.

She is not saying 9/11 did not happen - so she is not a 9/11 truther

[ In Reply To ..]
I guess you feel it offensive that she referred to it as "that 9/11 thing" but as I read it it is just a way of referring to 9/11, not saying it didn't happen.

To imply that this person is the same as a birther is incorrect. Perhaps it was an insensitive way to refer to 9/11, but it's apparent she actually believes 9/11 happened and is not denying it, is actually commenting on the Republican administration's handling of it, which I agree was terrible. In fact, I feel the Bush administration ignored many warning signs that could have prevented it, and I agree had the Democrats been in power during that time of mourning, the Republicans would never have been half as gracious.

It started with Clinton ignoring it. - 9/11 poster was crass.

[ In Reply To ..]
and heartless. Same as "that Benghazi thing." Minimizing tragedy is that the liberals seem to do best. Remember, "What difference at this point does that make?"

Bill Clinton was the first one to give up on trying to find bin Laden after failed attempts. Let's not go down that road again. We've already proven you (libs) wrong.

How right you are!!! - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
In fact, bin Laden was offered to the US on a silver platter by Sudan and Susan Rice convinced Clinton to turn the offer down.

Just for the record - the full quote on Benghazi

[ In Reply To ..]
By Secretary of State Clinton (for some reason only that inflammatory bit is quoted by conservatives, not the entirety, nor the context, but here is the actual full quote):

CLINTON: With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided that they’d they go kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make?

It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, Senator. Now, honestly, I will do my best to answer your questions about this, but the fact is that people were trying in real time to get to the best information. The IC has a process, I understand, going with the other committees to explain how these talking points came out.

But you know, to be clear, it is, from my perspective, less important today looking backwards as to why these militants decided they did it than to find them and bring them to justice, and then maybe we’ll figure out what was going on in the meantime.
And that, my friends, is why she's called Chillary. - No condescencion was necessary.
[ In Reply To ..]
I, and most conservatives, are well aware of the exact quote.
Thank you. Context is everything. - nm
[ In Reply To ..]

Well we all hear things differently - anonie
[ In Reply To ..]
I remember hearing her say that. The predominant thing my ears heard and it was really nasty the way she said it was " What difference at this point does it make?"

Sorry but the way she said that will never be anything but a sentence said by a woman who could not manage anything.

I remember Clinton saying that he wished he could have gotten bin Laden.

I also remember Ollie North saying that bin Laden was the most dangerous person in the world. He had to have special help to protect his family.

So tell me that you can still want Chilldary in the WH. I certainly do not and I doubt she would fend off a nuclear attack. She'd wait too long like she did for Benghazi.

Four people died but what difference does it make. Made a difference to their families and to me, a fellow American.

If we don't stop these mad men who are hell bent on killing us, they will be here on our shores in short time. Wake up America and our government in particular.

Now you cannot tell me that Obama has not got more Islam in him than he does Christianity. Remember his father and stepfather were both Islamic.
SMH! - No words! nm
[ In Reply To ..]
.
And I remember what Bush said - about Bin Laden
[ In Reply To ..]
Six months after 9/11:

"Who knows if he’s hiding in some cave or not. We haven’t heard from him in a long time. The idea of focusing on one person really indicates to me people don’t understand the scope of the mission. Terror is bigger than one person. He’s just a person who’s been marginalized. … I don’t know where he is.

I really just don’t spend that much time on him, to be honest with you."

I posted that phrase exactly in those words to make a point. - Mission Accomplished - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I posted the words "that 9/11 thing" in direct response to the conservative post that referenced "that Benghazi thing." In repeating the term in the identical manner of the right-wing post I directly responded to, it was exactly my intent to repeat it for effect. Sometimes the best illustrations come from simply reiterating something in the exact manner they were stated in order to point out exactly how it sounded to yourself.

Regardless of who allegedly first gave up on finding OBL, President Obama is the one that got him. That's primarily why so many candidates like Bush and Huckabee decided not to run for the big seat in 2012.

Mission Accomplished.

That's what happens when a lie becomes the truth - Truthhurts

[ In Reply To ..]
and indoctrination and brainwashing of the masses works. The lies come from the other side and nothing you can say will change their mind because of the above things.

Brainwashing - anonie

[ In Reply To ..]
And those brainwashed, the left, just refuse or do not yet realize they have been brainwashed and indoctrinated.

Take our colleges, the left is promoting their agenda and now they are trying to indoctrinate our children in our schools. No one did that when I was growing up and going to school many eons ago and I do mean eons.

I always tell young people to read the older books and not these newer ones to learn the truth about real history.

Today, everything is politicized, business, schools, all sorts of areas of our lives. I for one do not attend anything that has a tendency to brainwash or indoctrinate me. I recognize indoctrination and brainwashing.

I also know intimidation. This president does a lot of that and threatening. That is where his Chicago thug routine comes in handy. He learned it in Chicago. So take your pick, either he is Muslim or he is a Chicago thug. Either way he has lied to the American people and if you ask me, we need to have a truth in elections law like truth in lending, etc. No one got what they voted or didn't vote for. They got something worse.

No, they indoctrinated you just fine when you - were young---it was just

[ In Reply To ..]
your indoctrination, the right, that is. Since then, the brainwashing has worn off a bit, education has seeped into the general populace and the truth has begun to be taught.

Please do not tell me I was indoctrinated. - anonie
[ In Reply To ..]
I went to school in the 50s and 60s, so you cannot say that I was indoctrinated. As far as college, sure I could think for myself. However, I was never a part of flower power or that nonsense and not a person who burned by bra or protested the war.

So you see you are a young person who thinks you know it all. That is indoctrination. You are all so sadly blind to what is going on. It will be too late when you finally wake up and nothing is the same in this country as it was founded to be. Then perhaps when all your freedoms are gone and you have to do what big brother says and he takes all your money for whatever the heck he wants, then you will see how many of us tried to warn you. Continue listening to the left. You will find out some day.

I did not say either right or left were right, but right is more sane and makes sense than the left.
I am in your same age group but took a much different path....sm - VTMT
[ In Reply To ..]
I valued education, taught by my single mother who was a nurse. Things are so much better for women, children, and families in general than they were back in the 50s. How is that bad? The republican TP is trying to take us all back 100 years. An open mind is a beautiful thing. Only love can conquer hate. All things my mother used to say, may she rest in peace.
Yeah, so please don't tell me I am brainwashed - because the Right is so wrong
[ In Reply To ..]
and I have been educated and have beliefs that prove to me other than the Right Way. I am not as "young" as you might think. Only lagging you by 10 years. Things were not that different then. You think only 30 year olds can be so "misguided." Think again, and by the way, we are not. Someday, perhaps sooner than you or I like, we will be sitting waiting for our social security, and if the right has there way, there will be none.
I don't understand how the right, who will need - SS themselves somedy, want to - SM
[ In Reply To ..]
phase it out of existence. Isn't that somewhat akin to shooting oneself in the foot? Obviously very few, if any, of the right wing was ever taught how to think for themselves. Instead, they let some Napoleon-esque nut-job do it for them.
You just proved your indoctrination is a reality. - A sad reality, but a reality just the same.

God I love all the bickering on this board - hows that burned by bra thing work BTW?

Are the Conservatives really promoting no college - education?--fear education

[ In Reply To ..]
You're right, college is where people frequently really learn to think for themselves. They find original sources to read and not textbook pablum chosen by the "curriculum" czars of podunk U.S.A. They find real scholars who actually have some knowledge about the subjects they teach, instead of someone who could barely get through college, so they became a teacher. I kid you not, our state university (not a bad one/not the best) if you can't do any other degree, go into education.

And, no, that is not to say that all teachers are stupid or incapable of learning or teaching for that matter, but the subject matter they are allowed to teach is often picked out by Tom, Dick or Harry school board with absolutely no qualifications at all.
The Left looks for college-educated leaders; - the Right finds their leaders under rocks.

she called it "that 9/11 thing" because a poster before her - made reference to "that Benghazi thing"

Obama won he last election with 11 percentage points higher than Romney of the women's vote. Why, then, do we accept the fact that his administration paid the women on his payroll less than his male employees last year? The median 2012 salary for female employees of the White House was $62,000; for men that number was $71,000. If I Were Trump, One Thing I Would DoSep 10, 2016
I would ask all my supporters to tell any pollster who calls that they support Hillary Clinton. One of two things would probably happen: 1. Pollsters fall for it and get the election wildly wrong. 2. Pollsters don't fall for it and can't make any predictions. Either way, it would be the end of the disgusting, crooked polling business that seems to be more trying to influence opinion than objectively reporting it, and we'd all be much better off without them. ...
