Try to listen to the entire thing

Posted: Feb 16, 2010

And conservatives, if you are going to respond, and of course you will, try to respond to the information in the video instead of how you hate Rachel Maddow or Huffington Post or how you think it is not reputable.  For once, calmly and without malice, anger or name-calling address the information she provides and feel free to dispute it with something provided in a link that is not repub or dem in origin, or owned by one party or the other (including Fox), etc.

Warning..She provides a rather long list so you will have some work to do to dispute all of them.

Ok, here it comes.....

I think this is what is referred to as "calling a spade a spade" - Really?

Hard to debate the fact that the bottom line is she's right -- so much hypocrisy. I caught her Sunday on "Meet The Press" and she had Rep. Schock (R-IL) squirming in his seat after she confronted him about basically taking credit for a local college grant that he had voted against.

That hypocrisy will come back to haunt them in the end . . .

Irritating - NJ

When these guys are confronted, they often smirk and chuckle before jumping in with an attempt to redirect the conversation to criticism of the current administration. Smirk and chuckle. As if they are saying, "That's the way it's supposed to be done. Why are you even questioning my hypocritical tactics?"

I've seen it time and time again. Smirk and chuckle. Redirect. Pat Buchanan on MSNBC has it down to a science. As if it's just a big game instead of things that affect the lives and safety of people all across America.

I hope more of the media starts to call them out on the hypocrisy of running 24/7/365 campaigns instead of doing their jobs.

So you want conservatives to respond to Rachel Maddow.... - Anon

an avowed liberal with a show on MSNBC, to dispute this list "with something provided in a link that is not repub or dem in origin, or owned by one party or the other (including Fox), etc."

First of all, that request presumes that Rachel Maddow and Huffington Post are non partisan....in which case you'd have to be crazy.

And secondly, why should we have to dispute ANYTHING? We have our points of view and you have yours. We both think the other is misguided and way off base, but that's the American way, isn't it?

Now excuse me, but I have work to do to make money for my family before Obama's administration confiscates it all.

No, we just want conservatives to recognize the TRUTH - Really?

Here are just 2 examples of said republican hypocrisy:

WASHINGTON â Rep. John Mica was gushing after the House of Representatives voted Friday to pass the big stimulus plan.

"I applaud President Obama's recognition that high-speed rail should be part of America's future," the Florida Republican beamed in a press release.

Yet Mica had just joined every other GOP House member in voting against the $787.2 billion economic recovery plan.

Republicans echoed their party line over and over during the debate: "This bill is loaded with wasteful deficit spending on the majority's favorite government programs," as Minority Whip Eric Cantor, R-Va., put it.

But Mica wasn't alone in touting what he saw as the bill's virtues. Rep. Don Young, R-Alaska, also had nice things to say in a press release.

Young boasted that he "won a victory for the Alaska Native contracting program and other Alaska small business owners last night in H.R. 1, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act."

One provision would have made it harder for minority businesses to win contracts, and Young explained that he "worked with members on the other side of the aisle to make the case for these programs, and was able to get the provision pulled from the bill."

Yet later in the day Young â who recently told McClatchy that he would've included earmarks, or local projects, in the bill if it had been permitted â issued another statement blasting the overall measure.

"This bill was not a stimulus bill. It was a vehicle for pet projects, and that's wrong," he protested.

That was more in line with the Republican message.

Young wouldn't return a request for comment on the apparent contradiction of his press releases.

Mike Steel, a spokesman for House GOP Leader John Boehner of Ohio, at first ducked when asked about Mica and Young issuing press releases praising the bill they'd opposed.

"I don't work for Mica or Young," Steel said initially.

But then he explained that what Mica and Young did in touting aspects of the bill was in fact consistent with the Republican message.

"Being supportive of one portion of a trillion dollar bill, but voting against the entire trillion dollar bill, is perfectly reasonable," Steel said.

Mica is the top Republican on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and a longtime backer of high-speed rail. GOP committee spokesman Justin Harclerode explained that Mica saw the bill's $8 billion for rail as a "silver lining," and "he's encouraged others are supporting high speed rail too."

But nowhere in the Young or Mica statements was any mention that they opposed the bill.

Harclerode wasn't sure why Mica didn't mention his opposition. "It's not really secret," he said. "I guess it just wasn't the focus."

Dems can't handle the TRUTH... - No thanks to that dog face Maddow!

Nice drive-by one-liner . . . - Really?

Your hateful statement proves a couple of things: First, pubs can't deal with the truth, as they are the ones turning a blind eye to all the hypocrisy. Secondly, your response is so typical for someone who, when they have nothing constructive or meaningful to say, can only spout venom and resort to name-calling. Thank you for proving all the stereotypical behaviors of a conservative!! LOL
Yes, this is exactly the type of response I was - bracing for and hoping not

I just do not see how anyone can defend them. Come to think of it, no one is, they are just ignoring those bringing it up entirely.

Facts are nonpartisan. Fact is pub hypocrisy caught on video was - shown to be rampant.....

Don't have to go further than this forum to see it either, but the video collage is irrefutable, as can be easily seen in our response. Attack the source when you can't refute the content. BORING. Refuse to engage when fact after fact after fact calling pubs out on hypocrisy makes you squirm. Your anger is misplaced. It should be directed toward those whose behavior put you in the position where you cannot defend your own party and its representatives.

No, I do no think that accepting division over unity is the American way. You don't have time to search for links to make a case against the post. That's understandable considering they do not exist. It would be a waste of time, but not as much of a waste of time as the time you took to slam the poster and the source. Changes nothing when it comes to the hypocrisy that is being exposed, exercised, evaluated and placed into proper perspective all over the media, not just in Huffington Post or on Rachel Maddow.

You'd better get used to this, because you will be hearing a whole lot more about hypocrisy as the campaign season wears on. Not facing issues, running from the truth, blame games, fabrications, slams and slurs did not work well in 2008. In the current political climate, they ae not likely to serve you any better in 2010. Folks are angry. They want answers and action, not the business as usual that you are falsely claiming to be the American way.

This Independent And Her Entire Family Are VotingAug 19, 2016
There is one overriding consideration in our family, and that is the urgent need to break the strangle-hold that the "elite", the "insiders", the "establishment" have had on government for too long. Had Sanders not sold out and broken off an independent candidacy, our family frankly would have been split, but unfortunately Sanders proved to be just another P ...

I am going to continue to NOT read the negative posts by the usual suspects as they continue to offer nothing but divisiveness and vitriol, the traits the majority of Americans are tired of seeing over the last eight years. ...
