Other than this:
"Rafalca, a 15-year-old German-born mare, lived under a vaulted, tile ceiling in a terrazzo-floored stable with brass fittings. She is one of the expertly trained and meticulously cared for horses representing the U.S. in dressage at the London 2012 Olympic Games. She is also the property of Ann Romney, wife of Republican presidential candidate Mitt."
They don't make a cage big enough to put a horse on top of a car!  LOL!  Money mouth

My guess is the libs would choose the horse's petunia - ResistWeMuch

It's a perfect match.

LOL

Perfect example - of class envy.

Good for the Romneys! They earned their money and have a right to spend it how they see fit. They also have a right to take any tax deductions that are legal under the law. Libs are green with envy.

GOP: Nothing wrong with wealthy interests buying elections. - The real scandal is

[ In Reply To ..]
letting voters know who's behind all the bucks.

This is not about envy. It's about a candidate who thinks horses belong in guilded cages and cars need elevators putting himself out there as the "I-feel-your-pain" champion of the middle class and guardian of the social safety net. The very idea this sham of a man thinks he can draw middle class voters into his web of deception is downright insulting.

I find it rather ironic that - hmmm

those who complain about republicans "buying elections" refuse to see the democrats are bought and paid for by their special interest groups as well. It is a problem in both parties but so many are too blind to see it. Sad really.

The big difference between republicans and democrats is that one is bought by big corporations and the other is bought by unions.

It would be nice if people would look at their party first before they accuse the other party of doing something because more often than not...the very thing we complain about in the other party...a politician in our own party has done the same flipping thing. Just saying.

At least he didn't eat the horse. - what if - sm

I'm with Perfect example of class envy above. Her post was so accurate.

The Romney's didn't do anything wrong or illegal. So what if they have money. Know who else has money?...Obama's, Clinton's, Biden's, Pelosi's. This post goes to show the libs cannot stand anyone who has money (that is unless it's in their party) and the jealousy shines through loud and clear.

And know what else? I don't give a hoot about his race horse. That doesn't not affect my life.

Get a grip!

Snails, fish eggs and frog legs are more his style. - Consummate garden gourmet.

[ In Reply To ..]
ewww

I've eaten them myself. The rich aren't the only ones - who eat them.

[ In Reply To ..]
Snails are quite delicious too.
Nobody said otherwise. BTW, dog meat not only is - considered to be a delicacy
[ In Reply To ..]
in SWITZERLAND, it's consumed in China, Viet Nam, Korea, NE India, and parts of Africa. Heck, even 87 American pioneers (Donner Party) ate dog meat, before taking the plunge into full-blown cannibalism, as did Native Americans before the civilized Europeans wiped them out with plagues, wars and disease-infested blankets.

Different strokes for different folks, huh?

Or strap the horse on top of his car and drive it to Canada. - nm

Only private first class private jet to England for - this horse. nm

.

So only rich people have horses? - I beg to differ

[ In Reply To ..]
My husband and I have had at least 1 horse in our barn since we have been married (11 years) and we aren't rich.

Funny how you dislike Ann Romney for having a horse and yet you don't mention Pelosi and her vineyard. Why do you only dislike rich republicans? I'm sure there are democrats who own horses too...does that make them evil too? Just curious.

What tax deduction do you take for your horse? - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I have a medical condition for which the doctor suggested that I get a whirlpool bath. He wrote out a prescription. We remodeled our bathroom to put in the new expensive tub. I DID NOT claim it because I felt it would be used other than for my medical condition and that it would be CHEATING.

there is nothing wrong with taking that deduction - nm

Most people who have horses - I beg to differ

[ In Reply To ..]
and show them, race them, etc. and make money from doing that..do take deductions. Our horses were a business. We bought them, trained them, showed them, sold them. Then we got another one and did the same thing. You can make some money but you can also take some losses because horses are expensive to maintain and take care of. Also, breeding costs are expensive and the pregnancy doesn't always take. When you are making money off of a horse, you can get deductions. Now, if you just have them as pets to trail ride with....then I don't think you can deduct them. However, racing them and showing them in an arena are very different than just having them for expensive yard ornaments and to trail ride on for fun.

I would be more impressed if Ann got a humane shelter horse - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I have had horses too. You can get them for free sometimes--don't need a dancing pony for "therapy" and a tax write-off. If she had put some of that time & money into "rescuing" horses needing a home, I would have a bit more sympathy.

You can get horses pretty cheap - Trigger Happy

[ In Reply To ..]
but they are junk horses. I've had horses as well and if you want to take your horse into a show ring and do well...you often have to pay quite a bit of money to get a good one with great breeding, etc. We sell our horses, depending on how well built they are and their breeding, anywhere from 3K to 6K and we don't breed champions like some of these people who are into horses. We show locally. It isn't like we go to the Worlds show...although we did have a gelding we sold who went to Worlds and placed.

If you want to race or show your horse, you can't get a free horse and expect to do well. Those kind of horses are not good for much unless it is dead broke and you just wanna ride the trails or something.
I believe her deductions would be for a therapy horse - for hner MS not a show horse. nm

Obama won he last election with 11 percentage points higher than Romney of the women's vote. Why, then, do we accept the fact that his administration paid the women on his payroll less than his male employees last year? The median 2012 salary for female employees of the White House was $62,000; for men that number was $71,000. If I Were Trump, One Thing I Would DoSep 10, 2016
I would ask all my supporters to tell any pollster who calls that they support Hillary Clinton. One of two things would probably happen: 1. Pollsters fall for it and get the election wildly wrong. 2. Pollsters don't fall for it and can't make any predictions. Either way, it would be the end of the disgusting, crooked polling business that seems to be more trying to influence opinion than objectively reporting it, and we'd all be much better off without them. ...
