Syria. Unfortunately, some of those rebels are members of AL QAEDA!!! In return, al Qaeda has announced that American leaders will not be able to protect citizens from al Qaeda. Is this a Saddam Hussein redux, where we set him up as a leader, just to kill him later?
Just what kind of "chess game" is this country playing with the world?

Why should our tax money go to Russia to pay for helicopters for Afghanistan? Don't we have any manufacturers in the USA that can furnish helicopters...like, you know, giving jobs to Americans?
Wouldn't that be more sensible since employees are the majority of people who pay taxes?
What is behind this administration's thinking? Do they want to keep us "poor and destitute" (my opinion) because that will keep most on his side?
Got a newsflash for ya...Obama is down in the polls again, as is Hillary, according to the most trusted of all...Quinnipiac.
President Barack Obama gets a negative 45 - 49 percent job approval rating, compared to 48 - 45 percent positive in a May 1.
As for Hillary:
"Her score is down substantially from her all-time high score in February. The drop in her favorability is substantial among men, Republicans and independent voters. One reason for her drop may be that 48 percent of voters blame her either a little or a lot for the death of the American ambassador in Benghazi," Brown added.
As long as investigations keep digging and finding out how deep these scandals go, the more their ratings will drop.
Sorry "dislikers," but I feel the committees need to get to the bottom of all these scandals and weed out the crooks and liars. It's no way to run a government.
BTW, inside is how "satisfied/dissatisfied" Americans are with our gov't - Truthhurts

A total of 68 percent of American voters are "somewhat dissatisfied" or "very dissatisfied" with the way things are going in the nation today, while 32 percent are "very satisfied" or "somewhat satisfied." Voters also have negative opinions of political parties:
• 47 - 42 percent unfavorable opinion of the Democratic Party;
• 50 - 35 percent unfavorable opinion of the Republican Party;
• 38 - 28 percent unfavorable opinion of the Tea Party.

US to buy Russian helicopters for Afghan air force
The Pentagon plans to buy ten Russian military helicopters for Afghanistan's fledgling air force at a cost of $180 million (£119 million), ignoring protests from Congressmen who say US aircraft should be considered.
Defence Department officials have argued that purchasing the M-17s would accelerate the handover of control to Afghan forces.

After Obama's Bad Deal, American Black Hawk HelicoptersJun 26, 2017for Afghan Air Force.
The Donald Trump Pentagon, in so many words, is saying that the Obama administration’s decision to waive punitive sanctions and buy combat helicopters from Russia was a bad deal.
The Pentagon’s first congressionally required report on Afghanistan under President Trump says the Russian Mi-17 chopper has proved a failure in the long war and will be phased out in favor of American-made UH-60 Black Hawks.
The Obama administration came to realize the failure in its las ...

AfghanistanDec 02, 2009Thoughts on our plans for Afghanistan anyone?
I'm never pro-war, but a sudden pullout could be very dangerous for us as well as the Afghan people. I would very much like to see American aid based on "performance". Karzai may have been elected, but he's corrupt and inept.

Reminder: Obama Promised War In AfghanistanAug 23, 2017On Monday, President Donald Trump laid out his strategy for the war in Afghanistan going into 2018 and beyond. Why yes, yes he did. Let's take a trip in the way-back machine and look at some now-regrettable tweets, dug up by Fox's Stephen Miller:

Keith Olbermann Special Comment - AfghanistanDec 01, 2009This is for those who like and understand Keith Olbermann. It's about our occupation and war against Afghanistan. There's very little, if anything, that I disagree with him about.
I hope those who do not care for Olbermann will at least listen to the comment and then give their opinions so we can have a real debate on this thread and not just drive-by one-liners like "I hate Olbermann" or "I hate MSNBC" or other comments along those lines. This is an OPINION piece by Keith Olberm ...

Afghanistan And Horse Comment By Obama Last NightOct 23, 2012Here's a story and link of the following:
Although the glory days of the United States Cavalry are long gone, horses still serve the military. At Smith Lake Stables, adjacent to Fort Bragg, N.C., 36 horses are owned by the U.S. government and serve their country in two assignments. In one assignment, they act as equine ambassadors, linking the civilian public to the military. The horses are used in an annual summer camp program and in weekly day camp activities for home-schooled kids. But ...
