Totally unrelated to politics (so report me! hee)

I used to be an astrology fan but don't give much credence to it anymore, figure it's mostly just ideas of reference and self-fulfilling synchronicity, but the effects of Mercury Retrograde, on communication in particular, is the one aspect of it that I just can't let go of yet.  Especially since it's uncanny how often I can just "tell" one is happening or about to be happening, like now.  Forewarned is forearmed.  Me, I'm just going to go sit on my thumbs instead of posting (much) until it all blows over.   And I'll go turn in my rationalist card now too.  :ashamedly skulks away:

"Mercury is retrograde from February 23rd to March 17th, 2013. Mercury's shadow period begins February 8th and ends April 6th, 2013.

As the planet of communication, Mercury retrograde tends to breed a certain level of confusion. Mercury rules our "lower" mind--how we perceive and interpret information that we receive from our environment, and how we relay that information to others. Mercury has rulership over such things as speaking, negotiating, buying and selling, listening, formal contracts, documents, travel, the mail and shipping, and so forth. All of these areas of life are affected when Mercury is functioning in a sluggish state. Decision-making is challenged during Mercury retrograde. Needless to say, it is not advised to sign contracts, engage in important decision-making, or launch a new business. Delays and challenges are more probable with Mercury retrograde. It's a time when being careless with money, our personal information, or paperwork can be costly.

There is absolutely a positive side to Mercury Retrograde. This period is best used for re-organizing and reflecting. We look at the world a little differently--through different filters--and can come up with some very important inner revelations. It may be difficult to communicate them under this influence, but not everything needs to be rationalized. Mercury retrograde periods can be times of heightened inner awareness, when meditation, benefiting from keeping a journal, reworking old plans, and reviewing past work are favored. Minor breaks in the mechanical aspects of communication can actually re-connect us to other means of communication, such as when there is an unexpected power outage and we're forced off the computer and television, finding different and often satisfying ways to entertain ourselves." ....

Not About Politics At All But I'll Be We Can AllAug 02, 2012
agree that no matter the party we all love to see our athletes competing in the Olympics, including Ann Romney's horse.  I was wondering what others here would say was their favorite part of the Olympics.  I love watching all the competitions but my absolute favoite is at a US Gold medal ceremony when they play the National Anthem.  Canada is also my very close neighbor and "Oh Canada" is a favorite too when the Canadians win. ...

From a friend... ATTN: Trump dies in Jerusalem Donald Trump-45 passed away on a fact-finding visit to Israel. While he was on a tour of Jerusalem he suffered a heart attack and died. The undertaker told the American Diplomats accompanying him, 'We can have him shipped home for $50,000, or you can bury him here, in the Holy Land for just $100." The American Diplomats huddled in a corner and discussed their options for a few minutes. They came back to the undertaker and told him that th ...

Must say, I feel like they thought they were on an African Safari instead of doing surgery. ...

As one of them put it, "This is not a good situation for the Wal-Mart shopper. It's a bull market for the rich." The Trouble With Politics Is The Most Popular...smDec 18, 2011
politicians are the ones who tell their constituants what they want to hear even if they have to lie thereby leaving the honest politicians who tell their constituants the honest if painful truth out in the cold.  In politics, it seems that honesty is not always the best policy. Another Observation On The Politics BoardSep 20, 2012
I have been thinking how boring and pointless this Board has gotten in the last couple of months with the incessant Obama bashing and anything Democratic or liberal.   I noticed that apparently I am not the only one thinking this because next to each post there is the counter that says how often a post is viewed.  I notice that most original posts barely get over 50 hits and most secondary posts get maybe 10 to 25.  I did a random search of the achives and found that th ...

REBUTTING OBAMA’S ** ABOUT ENERGY President Obama’s discussion last night of “energy” was dishonest even by his standards. Ben Cole of the Institute for Energy Research has offered a forceful and, I think, largely meritorious response to Obama& ...
