This makes me angry

Posted: May 16, 2012

When women work at Catholic Businesses (hospitals) and go to Catholic Colleges they are told they will not receive contraception because it is against their beliefs so go to work/school somewhere else if they want that stuff.  Yet in Kansas a pharmacist is now allowed not to fill a woman's Rx for contraceptions if its against his/her religion. How about that pharmacist only work for a Religious institution then?  Kansas is a state with many 1 stoplight, 1 pharmacy towns...what on earth are those women supposed to do!? It says Kansas joins six other states - Georgia, Mississippi, Arkansas, South Dakota, Idaho and Arizona. Just ridiculous!

I believe that when one chooses to work in the arena of public health, they are charged with carrying out the standard of care that our nation has agreed upon. If they no longer support these standards, it is their responsibility to redirect their vocation. It is not within their purview, in my opinion, to attempt to alter standards of care based on their belief system.

Vote out those that make these laws! - Women must be vigilant

The way things crash, how many more years until men are dragging the women around by their hair, caveman style?

What a ridiculous statement. I guess you fall - for the WAR on WOMEN garbage?

[ In Reply To ..]
There are plenty of ways to get birth control, some for free... and there is another way to not get pregant if you don't want to! Grow up, women. You are making yourselves the victims here!! -and I say that as a woman!

The war on women is nothing new. It is time... - sm

for it to stop. Women do have the power they have just been slow to exercise it. Time for the old, rich, white men to go.
All those dead-beat dads would change their tune - Child support $$$

Those fat ol' white guys can't see past the morning after.

Dems been pushing "war on women" forever - More smoke and mirrors

[ In Reply To ..]
Yet Obama cannot put down the sword aginst the fight for women long enough to pick up a pen and pay the women the same as the men in the White House.

You can only be a victim if you volunteer for the job. Lots of women would rather cry "victim" than actually take control of their own lives and responsbilities. Dems and Libs been playing that game for years, and there are always women that fall for it.

BTW - DNC "hired" a spin doctor for good old Debbie Wasserman-Schultz because she could not get her "spin" on social issues in line with what the Dems were pushing. If Dems had true issues, NO ONE would need a "spin doctor" or have to be coached.
And no...I'm not posting a link. If you have interest in the truth, look it up yourself. If you're too lazy, oh well then.
...and I don't have to tell you how repulsive and devisive - your comment are do I? nm

Hmmm. How many spin doctors does the Kenyan Oblablah have and Oblablah hellbent on villifying, demonizing, castrating millions. With hundreds in his employ, Kenyan Oblablah cannot say anything without offending many.

The best form of birth control is aspirin. Take one and hold it between your knees!

Ridiculous - DD

What a ridiculous statement. Married women use birth control too you know.

good luck with that - nm

It would make sense for this pharmacist to work where they wouldn't be required to fill contraception Rx. As long as there is always another pharmacist there to fill those, I think it doesn't matter. However, if this is the only pharmacist on duty, something would need to be done.

Perhaps this is a bad comparison, but it is like someone working at a cash register and the customer is buying beer but the cashier is under 21. All they do is find another employee over 21 to scan it for them and voila....the customer has his/her beer. As long as there is someone else there who can fill the contraceptives....who cares.

birth control is legal; alcohol under 21 is not - that's the difference

My ex and I divorced YEARS ago.  I've been re-married for 14 years now, have grown children from the first marriage.  The relationship I had with the ex was horrible, he was unfaithful, emotionally abusive, manipulative, on and on, and as a father he was just as bad.  When the divorce was final it was like he was done with me AND our kids, yet every so often he would get drunk or stoned and call letting me know how miserable he was and how he knew he screwed up and still love ...

I've been dating a guy for about 6 months now.  Things are kinda serious.  I asked him to attend a wedding with me this weekend.  However - this is the weekend he is supposed to have his kids (the wedding invite specifically says no children).  I have never asked him to spend time with me instead of his children, ever.  I told him we could just go to the reception if he was worried about leaving his kids.  He says he doesnt think it "looks good" to go to a wedd ...

Labor Angry Over Obama Backed Insurance Tax Jan 13, 2010
I'm afraid Obama's ship is sinking. If no health care is passed, he sinks and by passing HC taxing the middle class, he sinks. WASHINGTON – Labor leaders are pushing hard on President Barack Obama and Senate Democrats to drop a proposed new tax on high-value health insurance plans, warning of political consequences. The White House has indicated the tax may change so it hits fewer workers — but it's not going away.A Monday evening meeting at the White House between Obam ...

His claims that the Paris agreement would force businesses to lay off workers and consumers to pay higher energy prices were transparently bogus, because a nonbinding agreement wouldn’t force anything. Who Makes Minimum Wage?Oct 29, 2014
Who makes minimum wage? Apparently not just your average fast food worker. The average age of a minimum wage worker is 35, not the teenager the Republicans are so afraid will raise the cost of their hamburgers.  54% of minimum wage workers labor at a full time job.  Not the teenager who works for a couple of hours after school.  27% of minimum wage workers support children.  Well, I am not sure if that is the teenager working down at the fast food joint--that probably dep ...
