I haven't been keeping up with the NRA convention (lots of OT and free time watching baseball), but no doubt the NRA is encouraging everyone to go out and get those streetsweepers and stock up on ammo before it's too late. Thar's that battle, ya know!! The guvment's acomin' to git yer gun!

I think they want to fight another civil war, those idiots. They're a danger to the safety and well being of this country.

I asked a serious question. You have to click to see the message inside. I have seen nothing in current events that suggests anything about insurrection - with the possible exception of the NRAs inexplicable recent calls to battle.
I think if posters are going to throw around notions of Americans being forced to fight physically, they ought to be accountable for their opinion. If they don't care to say what they mean, the post is meaningless, and I guess I will leave it there.
Some of them still think the Civil War is going on. - sm

And they want to destroy "our way of life" for the MAJORITY of Americans.
I personally think if they don't like it, then they should secede, but they are NOT going to win, despite how many "sequesters" the Republicans call.
Just let them think they're still fighting the Civil War. Why take away their fun?

No, she is not calling for insurrection. Sounds like you are calling for everyone to lay down and allow communism.
Our way of life: America. Land of the free. However, freedom is not always free. It comes at great cost. Only the freebies are free. Freedom comes at a price.
Nobody here is calling for insurrection....nice try....NOT. (psssst...that word is not as scary as you think it is). But this is a site that MTs come to to discuss issues and talk about how we feel about issues, what we see going on in the news. If you don't like that you are on the wrong site. We don't need others to make fun of us.
Since people in the government are not stopping the criminal activities when they are told to stop something will have to be done. We as MTs have no power over that. It will have to come from within. I am hopeful there are enough good people out there who have the power to be able to get them to stop. They need to be held accountable for their actions. Just as the German soldiers in WWII were held accountable.
Nobody believes the civil war is still going on whoever said that, I'll just state that's a stupid statement to make and sorry, the insult did not work. It only backfired on yourself and made yourself look foolish. We do believe that people have not learned from that war. People need to find out why there was a civil war. What started it and read up on why soldiers felt so strongly they gave up their lives to fight in it. Especially when you had brothers fighting against brothers. I can remember my grandfather who served in WWII said he volunteered as did all his friends. They felt so strongly and so patriotic it was something they had to do. They gave up everything for a cause they believed in, as did the soldiers in the civil war.
People cannot sit back and allow tyrants to continue doing what they are doing. If they are asked to fight in a cause if they feel strongly about it they should. Freedom comes at a great cost.
But you go back now to watching the Kardashians and the un-reality shows. You really don't need to worry your pretty little head about what is happening in the country. I'm sure Rachel Maddow will tell you the next insult to throw.
I think we'd all just like to know what are the - criminal activities?
[ In Reply To ..]
No specifics have been offered. What criminal activities? What lies? I can't even put my finger on what the subject is here.
Freedom comes at a great cost? Who isn't free? What freedom are you speaking of that we have to fight over?
Who are the tyrants and please tell me specifically what they are doing (with facts to support same).
What do the Kardashians have to do with this?
Oh brother....just forget it. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
You obviously have no interest in the truth. The truth is out there, just do your own research. I know you're not interested in the Constitution, why it was written, what our founding fathers gave up, why we had a civil war, who fought and why they fought.
The Kardashians are for the people who are asleep and don't want to know what's going on in this country. Just keep watching the Kardashians and the un-reality shows and then you don't have to worry about what is going on in the country. You'll have all the entertainment you want. Although I hear the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is more interesting.
So move along, nothing to see here. Soldiers will continue to fight and die for your freedoms, but hey, I heard Kim just bought a new purse to match her shoes.
You seem to know more about the Kardashians than I. - why do you presume

I could post 100 articles, but it is clear the poster is not interested. They know what freedoms, they know what activities they have been doing. Why would you even presume to think anyone would post sources so they could be cut down and told not credible before the ink even dries.
Here's the source:
www.google.com
www.bing.com
I'll be happy to post resources, but why should I or anyone when your their minds are already made up and they will ridicule a poster instead of looking at the truth.
So, you have nothing. Guess I'll move on - to someone who is willing
[ In Reply To ..]
to back up their claims with facts.
Please do move on and stop following me all over the board - I already told you.
[ In Reply To ..]
Stop attributing things to me I did not say. I didn't say I'm not going to do your research for you. But I see on this board anyone who DOES put a link they are immediately shot down with "it's not credible". Any time anyone puts a link to an article from a conservative site the bozos on this board come back with that's not credible, your not credible, tin foil hats, hater, racist, and any other nasty name they can think of to ridicule a poster.
Here's a news flash for ya....many of the sites you don't like because they are conservative ARE indeed credible.
I go on Google and I type in the information. It pulls it up. I read through 10 or more articles to get my information. Why in the heck do you think anyone should put up a link to information we have heard or read when it's clear the liberals on this board don't want to hear about it and have their usual prepared canned "it's not credible", blah, blah, blah.
There are plenty of facts out there. YOU don't want to hear them. You think by sweeping the facts under a rug will make them disappear.
So since you are willing to move on, please do so and stop badgering me.
For the people who are serious and want to have a discussion (you know, the ones who are not acting like they are stupid with the what, where, who? I am willing to have a conversation and share information. With the liberals who keep baiting and trolling, no thanks.

You keep talking about the Kardashians as if they are relevant somehow?
Don't have TV - - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
The country is being dumbed down by the stupid unreality shows like the Kardashians.
When people don't even know what is going on in the country, its either 1 - They hate the opposing side so much they just ignore the facts or 2 - they've been dumbed down by the reality shows.
I don't have TV. I therefore read everything. Even if it is from sites I don't particularly care for. Kind of gives me a broad spectrum of what is going on.
But when I get responses of what? who? where? when? Then it's mostly likely one of the two reasons above.
Besides, I don't need to watch the Kardassians. I see enough of it in the WH.
So you believe everything you read? and if you don't - have TV how do you
[ In Reply To ..]

How could you be critical of something you've never experienced before? I don't watch the Kardashians, so I really don't have an opinion about them. I know they're rich, but outside of that, I have no clue, nor do I want to. But I still wouldn't criticize the show or whatever because I've not seen it first hand. That's how I like to form an opinion, not based on something someone tells me or based on someone else's suggestion.
My favorite reality show is baseball.

And the rest of it contained ZERO answers to your question. I guess she (and everyone else) doesn't know what those "specifics" are. They just eat and regurgitate what the Republicans tell them to say, with no understanding whatsoever of what their "favorite" lawmakers are actually doing to them, none of which needs to be substantiated, since it has become the habit of them to do so. I watch them personally every day, making life easier for plane riders (in a nanosecond), while allowing the poor, elderly and others to just starve (Meals on Wheels), turning away cancer patients, etc.
Chris Matthews, thankfully, wants to hear stories of people who have been "cut off" by the Republicans, and he plans to expose all of it.
I'd still like to hear the answers to your questions, but they obviously aren't forthcoming from this poster.
Wait, I thought none of you listened to Chris Matthews - can you please make up your minds - sm

The Kardashian comment is because too many of you would rather watch what the Kardashians and housewifes are doing than know what is going on in your own government.
The person I replied to has shown they have no interest in knowing the truth.
Next time you want to insult you might leave out the mention of Chris Matthews. Nobody can take anyone seriously if they actually listen to him. He has no credibility and cares nothing about the truth.

So...because I asked a poster to explain what she meant by saying "forced to fight it physically" it sounds to you like I am "calling for everyone to lay down and allow communism?" Do I understand you correctly? What kind of math are you doing here?
When people talk about preserving their way of life through physical violence, that IS insurrection. You don't need to insult my intelligence (and your own in the process) with your blithe "nice try."
Like you, I am here to discuss issues. I don't need a tutorial on what this board is for.
I say: "Please explain what you mean by 'until we are forced to fight it physically.' It sounds like you are calling for insurrection."
And you say: "We don't need others to make fun of us."
Are you for real? I am not making fun of anyone here. What on earth are you talking about?
As for your barren assumptions: Just last week I turned to my husband and said "who are the Kardashians." I may be the only person on the planet who doesn't know the answer to this question. I don't get cable. I don't get reality shows. I don't get Dancing with the Stars or American Idol. So please, get over yourself.
You are the only one throwing insults here, and it's totally uncalled for. I posted with respect and you are responding like a child.

People go to war all the time. We have soldiers fighting in other countries. That is not called insurrection. I don't like war, but sometimes war is a necessary thing. When you have tyrants ruling a country and trying to impose socialist viewpoints you cannot lie down and let them just do it. That is not the American way of life. We don't live under communism or socialism rule here. The American way of life if freedom and independence. To fight for the American way of life is and should be what every patriot would do.
The founding fathers wrote our constitution for a reason. They put what they needed to put in. Everything was written for a purpose.
If you don't understand that I don't know what else to say.

[ In Reply To ..]
Founding fathers didn't say anything about child pornography, so why is it illegal?
Under your constitutional interpretation freedom of speech should also be absolute across all spectra just like the right to bear arms.

Pornography is covered under the 1st amendment, and legal under the constitution.
Child pornography, by way of contrast, is ILLEGAL under the same constitution, which happens to recognize a significant difference between adults (who have reached the age of consent), and children (who cannot consent, and who can be easily exploited).
Right?
Wrong. There's nothing in the Constitution about CP, - it's covered by Federal and State laws only.
[ In Reply To ..]
Laws regarding child pornography are actually specifically exceptions to the Constitution, because child pornography has been declared by the Supreme Court "to be outside the protections of the First Amendment."

"outside" the protection of the first amendment means the first amendment does not protect child pornography.
