Fox Graphic Regarding Voting And Education

Posted: Aug 6, 2013

I just came across this Fox graphic and thought some of the posters on this board might find it interesting.  Oh, my goodness.  Interesting.  Fox's own takeaway is that the more educated the citizens of a state are, they voted for Obama.

;

yawwwwn....you just came across this - already been discussed here - sm

This is old news, plus not news, plus not accurate. It was already debunked when it was talked about before.

Nice try though.

Just have to ask... - mbmt

What's inaccurate about the Fox graphic?

It wasn't debunked. Maybe the OP was not posting - here then. NM

Fox Reports The Truth While The Rest of the Lamestream Media Is Silent - Seriously

[ In Reply To ..]
If repetition is boring, perhaps that's instructive as to how the right wing posts against the POTUS sound. Yawn. That's already been covered here. This is old news. The election is over. He won. We know. There's no redo. You hate it. We get it.

Sorry to repeat something already posted, but I was able to verify the Fox chart is correct. It turns out the Republican voters of 2012 were from the least educated states. The intelligent people voted for the POTUS. I thought it might be misinformation myself, considering the source was Fox, but then I thought to myself that if Fox was going to juice up those kind of numbers about the intelligence of their viewers, I would bet they'd gin them up in favor of their own viewing public rather than against them.

Besides, I happen to know for a FACT that Fox is the only member of the lamesteam media that reports the TRUTH while the other networks are silent. I happened to have read it on this board at least 1,000 times, so it must be true.

Nice try though.

As you and others have been telling us repeatedly... - Faux news not credible

[ In Reply To ..]
Faux news lies. Can't trust them. Nothing they say is true. Blah, blah, blah. Oh...so nooooowwwww all of a sudden they are "credible"? ROFLMAO. Nice try though.

Been debunked. Discussion was had about this.

Again, nice try though.
It wasn't debunked. - nm.

Careful. Mustn't rush to judge the Fox. Teetering on the brink of learning something here. - Seriously
[ In Reply To ..]
So now all of a sudden the Fox is NOT credible? Oh, I don't know, could it be the Fox was never credible to begin with? Maybe we shouldn't assume everything the Fox reports is TRUTH? Maybe the reason the rest of the "lamestream media" is not reporting something is because it's a load of made up crap that can't be verified?

Fair and balanced?

Reeled in. Hook, line, and sinker. Yummy.

know this how? Can you show us a link that states this or is this your opinion?

So the implication is in liberal blue states, those with a college degree are smarter and thus SM - goodgrief

[ In Reply To ..]
must be more enlightened to have voted for Obama. What kind of courses did these people take? I know at Harvard back in the 1980s when Reagan was shot, there were actually people who cheered. I know someone who witnessed it.

Also, a majority of MENSA members tend to be liberal. Intelligence does not always mean you know how the world really works.
Then - I guess
[ In Reply To ..]
what you are saying is that this applies to Red states also, and in those states intelligence does not always mean you know how the world really works and they must be more enlightened. My opinion, basically, people vote by their beliefs and voting one way or the other has nothing to do with intelligence but beliefs. Just because people vote one way or the other does not mean they are any smarter or less intelligent, just that they have different beliefs. You may disagree with my beliefs and I may disagree with yours, but that does not make either one of us smarter. What people have forgotten on this board is politics is a matter of beliefs and what is important to each individual. All presidents have things that we can bring up that are questionable. This board is peppered with insults and wrong-doings by the president, and if a republican wins next time, there will be posts with insults and wrong-doings by them.
But it wouldn't be the same, and you know it. We never - slandered Prez Bush like this, and we
[ In Reply To ..]
never even spoke the truth about his lies and mistakes with the sort of virulent nastiness and dishonesty that is normal for the reactionary right. No matter how angry we were.

We have our own faults, but what they do is just not a "left" thing at all. We ARE fundamentally different, literally hard wired in the brain different.

wouldn't be the same. I've been on this board long enough to know who says what. I was just trying to make a point and keep peace.

Grief, is that what you think your education did to you? - Indoctrinated you? Would you be

[ In Reply To ..]
much wiser then if your education had only stopped at 5th grade because you would be less indoctrinated.

Better yet if you had only stopped 3rd grade because you could read, but not well enough to risk indoctrination by thick books?

IF, just IF, you think you did better to finish at least part of high school, what might you know if you had, say, two years of college study? Tough classes dense with information in history, economics, sociology, physics?

Things have changed in the past 50 years. We used to have - goodgrief

Education Is Indoctrination, Everything You Need To Know Is Found on Fox News - Seriously

[ In Reply To ..]
I wonder the real reason the right wingers oppose education? Is it possible the data doesn't lie? The lower education one has, they will vote Republican? That brings us back to the Fox chart. The data is verified.

In the conspiracy theory world of the right wing propaganda machine, higher education is now being referred to as "indoctrination." Not surprised to see it spewed back here. Rick Santorum had an attack of Pander-itis and started foaming at the mouth in his zeal to explain the phenomenon. He's out there spreading the word and telling people not to send their money to colleges and NOT to send their children there either (hope they like making minimum wage below poverty level). It's part of the Republican economic betterment plan to keep 'em stupid and voting correctly.

Not surprisingly, however, while Pastor Rick was preaching the evils of education, he failed to inform the flock about his own college education, I mean indoctrination.

The Indoctrination of Rick--Third Degree
1. Undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University.
2. Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
3. Juris Doctorate from the Dickinson School of Law (now part of Penn State).

I think the OP "Seriously" is making a point. What the chart says really isn't the point.

The Fox defenders are now attacking Fox. Live by the Fox, die by the Fox.

That's it. :)These data are published in thousands of - places. EVEN Fox with its low-ed viewership.nm

I was impressed that Fox actually displayed a chart that was factual and truthful. Is that what the Fox defenders are attacking..the truth?

Very Well Done! Bullseye... - Seriously

[ In Reply To ..]
Bravissimo. Nailed it.

This is what I mean when I say "checkers versus chess." IMO, the right wing and extreme right wing get reeled in by their own misinformation. Fox News misinformation may well have cost Romney the election. Thank you very much to the Fox and Romney's own 47% comments where he goes on and on about all manner of things and tells us how he really feels. You know, that secretly recorded video, the one where Romney envisions a pre-election foreign policy crisis and says, "If something of that nature presents itself, I will work to find a way to take advantage of the opportunity."

Politicize a foreign crisis? Okay, that's one way to go. You might want to think that one through. So then Benghazi happens and Romney goes on the attack against the POTUS before the fire's even out and the bodies are even cold. Romney didn't know someone was killed, you argue? Well of course, he didn't. In his rush to judgment to politicize the event, how would the facts figure in there?

IMO, you see that kind of rush to judgment a lot with the right wing "fear and smear" tactics. Verifiable facts are ignored. Even when the facts are presented, they keep hammering away at the lie, which is why I think they just won't move on about Benghazi. The right wing attack dogs and misinformation spin machine just keep churning out the same old line of fear and smear. You know, the whole "Obama didn't say it was an act of terror" line of spin, and "What did they know, and when did they know it?" bull crap sessions.

So you can believe the Fox News misinformation smear campaign machine or you can actually verify facts.

The day after the attack, the POTUS said:

"No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for. Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America. We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done."

So they're playing at checkers, while Obama's playing chess.
