I like what they did during the Italian communist riots, - the cops sprayed the rioters with

So those afraid of ISIS in America and riots are afraid of military exercises to deal w/these things - If you're not doing wrong, don't worry a
[ In Reply To ..]
Hadn't planned on responding, but I hadn't read about this yet, thanks to the OP and others. As for the paranoia, I understand to a point, I guess, it's sorta like being in your car and discovering a police car directly behind you, and though you know you haven't done anything wrong, you still check your turn signals, your speed and whether you came to a full stop last time anyway lol.
However, there's a point that paranoid moment should come to an end and rationality kicks in. Because though we all know sometimes the police or even military do things they shouldn't, most times, if you're white (sad, but true) and do what you're supposed to be doing anyway, the law and military won't mess with you, they wouldn't waste their time and you're just not that important.
All I found from mainstream reputable media was this article from the Washington Post.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2015/04/29/jade-helm-15-a-military-simulation-draws-scrutiny-and-wild-speculation-in-texas/
It just says these routine exercises have increased lately but didn't say why. I guess we could speculate the increase is due to riots like Ferguson or Baltimore, fears about ISIS in America, domestic terrorists on the rise such as "sovereign citizens" or all of the above, but the fact is, we don't know. I say if you're not doing something you oughtn't, don't worry about it. If you are, well then I understand why you're sweating.
The obvious exception is, of course, if you're black or Middle Eastern. On that note, for those who haven't seen this yet, Chris Rock has been stopped 3 times this year (once sitting in a parked car) by the cops and selfie/video-ed it. Isaiah Washington tweeted back to him that he sold his 90K Mercedes and bought Priuses so the police would leave him alone.

Wonder what Obama is planning. What's up? - Getting ready for more

riots in the inner cities.
None of the articles I read mentioned Obama. As I said, there's a time paranoid moment should - pass and rationality should kick in
[ In Reply To ..]
These exercises are most likely on the rise to prepare to deal with civil unrest and domestic terrorism, which are also both on the rise, and as I said yesterday, historians and sociologists have repeatedly provided evidence since the 1960s that we will see more aggression in society when people feel economically frustrated and oppressed in some way, whether that be real or imagined frustration and oppression, and that theory can apply just as easily to white right far-wing extremists such as "sovereign citizens" or inner-city blacks.
So if Obama has anything at all to do with it, it would most likely be not being capable of correcting our economic situation as many would've liked. Otherwise, we have not a shred of evidence that Obama has a thing to do with any of these goings on, anywhere.
When I read something like special operation - forces are conducting
[ In Reply To ..]
training exercise, I think of preparing for fighting ISIS. It's not a stretch to wonder what Obama is planning. This is not some kind of Alex Jones drama.
True. But the 1st comment regarding "Obama planning" I replied to says - "riots in the inner cities"
[ In Reply To ..]
in the text body, if it's not been edited and I understood it correctly (but I've already misunderstood one comment today so it's possible lol).
Ah well, as I explained below in another comment, I don't think there's anything sinister afoot with either the Army OR Greg Abbott, I just think there's a bit of undue panic going on with the latter that has the potential to compromise security efforts.
It's probably the not knowing that's causing - all kings of conspiracies or
[ In Reply To ..]
otherwise.
I understand the comment though considering - the military is under Obama now,
[ In Reply To ..]
that's probably all it meant.
I meant nothing untoward what the Texas gov. is - going, not the military training
[ In Reply To ..]
exercise.
I did misunderstand that, sorry about that! - 1st responder to your comment

Well, as far as anything being "untoward", I don't think there's anything untoward going on with either, personally. I think the army's increase in military exercise is a good thing, it's prep training for dealing with terrorism in America, domestic or foreign.
As for Greg Abbott, I don't think there's anything untoward going on there either, I just think it's a bit of overkill and might actually impede military training for dealing with terrorism.
And government "monitoring" is still government monitoring, regardless of what branch of government's doing it, isn't it? I guess I don't trust any branch of government or politician that much unless I know them personally.
And such monitoring in lesser government hands usually leads to info/security leaks. A leak is a leak, regardless of who's doing it or for what intent. Don't want it to slip from Greg Abbot into the wrong hands, domestic or foreign, just saying.
I agree with you. I just had to read several things - to find out what was going on.

I've read all kinds of opinions from it's an occupation, from one extreme to another. I think the Texas state guard is just a volunteer organization, so they probably think this is great, being asked to "join" the feds.
Lol, me too. Lol x2 about the guard. Where is Chuck Norris/Walker, Texas Ranger when we need him? - now, he'd straighten it all out;)

Since I noticed others are posting personal anecdotes below about their kids, I hope this is okay, but just know this one's designed to make people smile:)
Where I used to live, one day, I heard scratching at my front door. I looked through the small window and saw nothing, but opened to the door to find the biggest gray rabbit I'd ever seen, with a harness on, sniffing around.
My next door neighbors quickly rushed over and said, "I see you've found Chuck Norris."
I said, "I wish. All I met was this giant bad-A rabbit, who's actually a real sweetie, isn't he?"
The husband said, "That's exactly why we named him Chuck Norris. Well, that and when I went to buy the bunny to surprise my wife with as our new house pet, I felt I needed some justification for a grown man obtaining a bunny without a gun, so I convinced her to at least let me name him Chuck Norris so I'd feel less emasculated."
Lol.
That's a great story. My friend's mom named her - dog Winnie after Winston Churchill,

that not as funny but that dog had the balls if you know what I mean!
He's doing his job. He's having the State Guard monitor - what the Army is doing. I

That's right: according to Republican Rick Perry, no amount of safety requirements can prevent an "act of God," which may or may not have occurred in the Gulf of Mexico, resulting in 11 dead oil rig workers and a gusher of oil jetting over 2 m ...

Which Republican Governor Is The Worst?Aug 26, 2014I nominate Scott Walker from Wisconsin.
Recent breaking news -- Scott Walker's administration agreed to give a $6 million tax break to a corporation that may lay off nearly 2,000 Wisconsin workers. And less than a month later, the owners of that corporation gave Walker's campaign $20,000.
But then there is Bob McDonnell from Virginia, Christie from New Jersey, Perry from Texas, Palin from Alaska. Yes, I realize some of these are not current governors, but it is hard to keep up. ...
