They are honorable, respectable workers who, because they are union members, make an appropriate income, and without it, wouldn't. In fact, I wonder if the minimum wage idea was put in effect due to the hard work of unions carrying on into non-union matters. I know that I have worked places where I benefited greatly because the company had a union, even though I was clerical and most clerical people didn't join the union. I made a reasonable salary with benefits. I believe strongly in decent, honorable unions. We need more of them. We need them in medical transcription, although that ship has already sailed.
