My first...Andy Gibb (RIP) when I was in 7th grade.

Strangest thing I've ever done for a concert...traveled with my daughter round trip 10 hours (to NYC) with one day's notice when she won Meet and Greet tics to see Secondhand Serenade, one of the nicest people I've ever met.

My all-time fave...Maroon 5/Train and Gavin DeGraw on the same bill. I've seen Maroon 5 4 times and I can't wait until they tour again.

Dionne Warwick and Barry Manilow. nm - really old

What great memories that brings back, thanks for posting. I haven't been to a concert in years, don't know why, cannot afford it or don't want to go out at night. Maybe I should. I do enjoy Maroon 5, but afraid I would feel funny there with all of those teenagers.

Concerts - Never Too Old - LinK

To Wow - don't feel like you're too old. I'm going to be 50 next month and I love Maroon 5. I've been taking my 18-year-old daughter to concerts since she was 6. I may be one of the oldest people there, but I don't care. I may be 50 but I certainly don't act it, especially when I'm at concerts. LOL. I don't do anything crazy, just enjoying myself. The last time we saw them with Train, there were a lot of people older than me there.

First, Jethro Tull (aging myself here) - Fave, Moody Blues-nm

Too many to have a fav, but in the top three would be Rush, Van Halen and Rat/Poison concerts.

Chicago. 1970 In the round in St. John Terrell's - Olive

Music Circus in Lambertville, NJ. It was under a tent. The stage rotated around every few songs. Everyone was close to the stage. The brass sound was awesome. Unforgettable.

This past summer we saw the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block twice and I loved it!!! Second fav would have to be Guns 'N Roses

I so wanted to go see them!!! - Zville MT

[ In Reply To ..]
Have seen both individually - NKOTB back in the 80s at the state fair and then BSB in the 90s. I think they've both gotten better with age :)

First: Andy Gibb; Fave - Jimmy Buffett - ...what a variety!

[ In Reply To ..]
My mom took us to 1 concert a year. I do the same for my kids. My hubby has seen over 100 concerts...me, only 25 or so. With mom - Andy Gibb, Bon Jovi, Rod Stewart, Rick Springfield, NKOTB/BSB (younger sis) Jimmy Buffett,...with hubby - Robert Plant, Moody Blues, Rush, Eagles, Eric Clapton, AC/DC, Jimmy Buffett, Paul McCartney...with kids - Aaron Carter, NSYNC, Night Ranger, America, Jimmy Buffett, Eric Clapton, Billy Joel/Elton John, Eagles, Chickenfoot...Loved them all. Can't wait for Jimmy again this summer.

Fav was in 2010 - Saw Rush twice that year. .. sm - nm

Those guys just get better with age and they have a wonderful stage and light show. First concert was at 14 - Jefferson Airplane.

I love Bob Seger! - KKL

[ In Reply To ..]
My first Big outdoor concert was Alice Cooper in the early 70s, I believe. Have seen a lot of bands as my husband played bass in a few local bands and they even opened for Rare Earth for an outdoor concert back in the day. We love going to concerts. Saw Vanilla Fudge and Grand Funk, Eagles, Doobie Brothers, Eric Clapton, Chicago...could go on and on. Going to see the Moody Blues for the first time this spring.

My favorite artist is Bob Seger. Have seen him perform live only 5 times though, twice last year. Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band still put on an awesome concert, unlike a lot of other bands that have been around for decades. He is truly amazing.

Hopefully, he will be back for another tour end of 2012, early 2013, when his new album comes out. I'll be there!

I hope you're right! I saw him only once - mthead

[ In Reply To ..]
but it was a great show, and I love his music. Night Moves still sends me back there. Sigh.

To mthead - KKL

[ In Reply To ..]
That is the plan. He is half done with his new album and is planning to have it out by September. He had such a great time on his 2011-early 2012 tour, and he just has to tour to support his new album. He sold out almost everywhere he played. Follow his website and/or facebook page for updates!
Yay! Thanks. I didn't even know he was - mthead

still performing. Thanks for the link! :-)

Here is a link to a video I took at one of Bob's November concerts.  I was too close to the speakers/monitors, so a bit of loud feedback.

Thanks for sharing!

You guys rock! Named so many I'd love to - see. My worst?

[ In Reply To ..]
Worst ever was Randy Travis. Not a huge country fan, but he came across as arrogant and/or boring. Hubs was a concert virgin. I got us tix for Tim McGraw & he loved it (will admit that he's pretty easy on the eyes), so that led to Buffett...He's hooked.

Would have loved to KISS, Ozzy, and Meatloaf back in the day. Another on my concert bucket list is James Taylor. Gosh! Think I just made myself sound bipolar. :)

Van Halen many, many years ago but great concert! - nm

beatles and dave clark 5 - shows my age - fedup

[ In Reply To ..]
loved Manilow too!

concert - sm

My first was The Who in 1976. Pontiac Silverdome, general admission. My friend and I worked our way to the stage and then when the concert ended, almost got crushed trying to get off the main floor. NO STEPS. They had guys pulling the people up to the stands. Very crazy night.

One of my favorites, years later, was George Jones, George Straight and Reba McEntire.

Disappointing one. Grand Funk, had tickets, broke up a week before concert.

Tragic ones. Lynyrd Skynrd, plane crash and killed members a couple days before. Ricky Nelson, killed in plane crash the night before. For the sake of the entertainers, I don't go to concerts anymore.

Not my fave YET but going to see Roger Waters' - The Wall Live tour this summer! nm

Going To A Concert...Feb 19, 2017
...and if people in front of me stand up to dance, wave their arms, or whatever, I'm going to spit. The reason for tiered seating is so that everyone can see the stage. If my view is someone's butt, I'm going to ask for my money back, which is no small change. If you're one of "those" please don't do it tonight, LOL. ...

U2 ConcertJun 29, 2015
Went to Chicago to see U2 last night. It was a sell-out crowd.  What a great group of musicians.  Had tickets to their 360 tour over 4 years ago but unable to attend as our home burned to ground and we lost our tickets.  Was really excited about going.  Enjoyed the music tremendously.  Unfortunately, the man in front of me chose to stand for the entire concert.  Quite a large man to say the least.  I politely leaned forward about 30-45 minutes into the show and ...

Senate Democrats have not figured out a way to get around Republican opposition to reauthorizing extended unemployment insurance for the long-term jobless. The benefits are set to expire at the end of the month, jeopardizing a lifeline for two million people during the holidays. But it's not likely the benefits will be reauthorized before they lapse, since Congress will go home for Thanksgiving next week, meaning this week is the last chance to prevent an interruption in benefits. Including those who once applied for Medicaid, did qualify, but were denied. Unfortunately, thanks to the Supreme Court decision, states don't have to extend Medicaid health insurance to fill the gap between those doing okay and the really poor, but the Obamacare does include some important presents for red state residents anyway. It's really bad to just assume, like those people on Hannity -- the free experts Obamacare provides are there to answer questions. This is important stuff. ...

The new TrumpCare plan:  Under AHCA  (TrumpCare), a 64-year-old with a $26,500 in annual income will pay $14,600, or 55% of their income.   That leaves you less than $12,000 a year to live on (or $1000/month) to pay your rent, food, taxes, heat, eletricity, transportation, maintenance.  Guess that fancy cell phone is going to have to go.     https://www.forbes.com/sites/matthewherper/2017/03/14/keep-your-plan-maybe-not-under-trumpcare-says-devastating-cbo-rep ...
