Same story, different scenario

Posted: Nov 4, 2010

I am posting this story so die-hard Obama and democrat haters can refresh their minds.  This was from back when Bush was in office and the public was sick of the republican ways.  This is only a reminder to the ones who are blaming the democrats for everything and Obama.  There are many people who are not happy with either party and rightly so.  It is nothing but games on both sides.  But for those who seem to think things were running so well before Obama and the democrats took over, please read and understand that neither party is perfect.  People that were republicans were turning on them also.  It would be so much nicer if the name calling would stop and we the people can get all these guys and gals to listen to us and run the country right.  Why can't we help our citizens and also have businesses run profitably.  We can if all parties would stop the name calling and sit down and figure it out without the attitude of my way or the highway, as both parties do.  Parties of both sides play games to make the other side look bad and then gloat when they win and then a short time later they are in hot water with the people.  I think they all need a time-out in the corner!

;

Sorry, but its never going to change. Unfortunately, - politics IS a game. I think we need to

In my local election, there was less than a 3,000 vote difference between the winner and loser of around 270,000 votes cast. Remember, when you say the AMERICAN people want this or that, remember that roughly HALF of them do not agree with you.

Don't believe I said the American people want what I want. I just said why can't we help our citizens and businesses prosper. I bet people agree with that in general. We just need to get our politicians to work together at it. Guess I don't understand what you mean.

Wasn't arguing - Just commenting

I have been reading so much (below) that Americans want this and that, but they do not speak for all Americans. I did not mean for you to read anything into it. I enjoyed your post.

I agree with most of your post, except - anon

Except the first sentence. Whenever someone disagrees with a policy or what he is doing one side (not saying you, just saying the "Obama lovers") are quick to say, you're an Obama hater or your a racist or your a democrat hater. We don't hate and that's where I think so many of you (again not you personally) get it wrong. We don't hate Obama and we don't hate democrats. We just disagree with the policies and decisions being made. I watch the news and read different articles and people on the opposite side don't hate Obama, they hate his policies and the democrats policies and what they stand for, and if it was a republican pushing the same agenda and policies they would hate the policies and agenda equally.

I think as long as people keep calling other people Obama-haters or Bush-haters we will never come together because then it gets into a personality thing instead of focusing on issues.

Nobody wants Obama to fail because if he fails the country fails. The country is so divided right now with accusations being flung on both sides. Everyone wants to blame the other "side", when in reality the people who are behind the scenes are really running the show and they are one in the same thing. Their ultimate goal is for a One World Government - everyone equal. They have come out and actually said it.

What I am hopeful for with this newly elected officials is that finally after the democrats have been in congress for so long and dominated everything, and have done nothing to help the people of the country, that finally the ideas that the republicans have will finally be listened to. I am hopeful for the first time in a long time that maybe the country can start healing and people can get together. The country really needed some hope.

If someone in congress has a great idea of how to put people back to work I'm all for it (my family needs all the help they can get), but if a politician is going to keep growing the government, not putting people back to work, and taxing us even more, then I just don't think we will ever be a great nation again.

America needs to abolish the party system. - Antiquated, and doesnt work worth ____.

Hypothetical Scenario In FergusonOct 26, 2014
With the Grand Jury about to issue a decision on whether or not to go forward with criminal charges against Officer Wilson, and in preparation of potential riots based on that decision, does anyone think it would be a good idea for President Obama and Attorney General Holder to be in Ferguson at the time of the decision and stand arm in arm with the governor of Missouri, the mayor of Ferguson, the police chief, the county supervisor and anyone else of power to show strength and unity with w ...

ANOTHER MAN STORYApr 06, 2011
I think the radiation in the air is infecting our men.  MY DH left himself logged onto facebook and this morning when I came in to work (our computers are both in the office) I noticed the light on, clicked the mouse to shut it down and noticed his facebook.  Curiosity got the better of me and I was just looking around at his wall posts, all innocent silly talk with old friends and co workers.  THEN I decided to read his messages... I am the mom whose son came home from Afghanistan 2 weeks ago.  We ended up not going, and I made sure my husband knew how unhappy I was at missing the chance - and so did the rest of the family!  Fast forward to last Thursday and I got a text from my son saying he would be HOME on Saturday about 2 p.m. to pick up his car and clothes he had left at his brother's house.  Totally jumped at the chance to be the one to pick him up from the airport so I was buzzing around for ...

A True Story...Jul 18, 2012
In the early 70s, I was a new wife and mother without a lot of money, living in a small mid-western town of 1200.  One day a well-meaning friend called me and said,"The Government is giving away free cheese at the Auditorium. You should go stand in line and get some." I said to her, "Why should I go stand in line for the free cheese?  I don't want a 5 lb. brick of cheese." She replied, "Everyone is doing it."  So, I went and stood in line for the free cheese.  But, reall ...

An MT Insurance Story...Jan 22, 2014
I had insurance through my MT job but never filed a claim as I am relatively healthy and never met the deductible.  I didn't have a colonoscopy until I was 55 or a mammogram until I was 56, my own fault, but my income had taken a nosedive and preventative care was the least of my worries.  I was just lucky that both turned out OK.  I lost my insurance when I was diagnosed with RA and couldn't maintain full time status or production, pretty close though.  Because of ...

Funniest Beauty Story-see MsgFeb 09, 2015
What is your funniest, most embarrassing, disastrous beauty story? I'll share mine. I had long, naturally wavy hair in high school (early 1970's), and back then curls and waves were not good. Straight hair was in. So, I used to iron my hair right smack dab on the ironing board. One time, I left it on too long in a particular spot, and I looked like I had a giant POOF right at my right ear. So, I was left with straight at the part, POOF by the ear, then straight below that. I also ...
