I remember watching that story and thinking the guy did not sound credible. I was especially incredulous when Lara Logan said something along the lines of: We are concealing his identity and referring to him as Morgan Jones. Then they show the guy's face and everything, and I remember thinking, "great concealment job, who would recognize him?" *sarcasm* Listening to his story, watching his body language and eye movements gave him away as not being completely factual.

Interesting to read the comments below the article also. There's a debate about who the takers in the country actually are and that it's corporate welfare costing this country millions, while the CEOs' salaries are going through the roof, they're offshoring their earnings, while the rank and files' wages are stagnant and falling. Finally people are beginning to realize just who are the actual takers in this country and the dirty little secret that Republicans don't mind "freeloaders" at all, as long as the tax dollars are flowing up to big corporations.

Wake up America. Your tax dollars are going to large companies and corporations that are sending your job overseas, making tons of money using your tax dollars, see the Dow Jones going through the roof and hitting new highs while offshoring their profits to keep from paying taxes back into America, all the while your Republican leaders are pointing to the low-income and poor in this country and screaming at the top of their lungs that those people are the real takers.

And the whole "corporations are people" line of thinking. It just drives me right up the wall. Because I'm always trying to think one step ahead. Like, you know, how many votes will the corporation be wanting in the future since the courts have decided that "corporations are people." And since people can vote, how many votes should we give the corporate "person"?

I don't think the poster was blaming only republicans. Wake up America sounds fairly bipartisan to me. To my read, the focus of the post was the nature of the rhetoric coming from the right wing versus the left wing.

Actually, in my post I blame no one for the fact that the tax dollars are going to big corporations. IMO, actually *some* of these types of corporate subsidies are a good thing and necessary in a capitalist society such as we have.

However, having said that, I don't see Democrats calling the people of this country the "takers" and voting to slash their pensions by calling them "entitlements" and cutting billions out of the SNAP program while turning a blind eye to corporate welfare. Indeed, the guys that spent years and years of rubber stamping things without paying for them (2 wars, Medicare Part D, etc.) are screaming about rampant spending and deficits, mind you, all the while lobbying for a Keystone pipeline, etc., etc., etc. Meanwhile, President Obama has made proposals to end some of this excessive corporate welfare, and those proposals have fallen on deaf Republican ears who will not stand by and let the corporations lose one penny of government subsidies. They won't hear of it because they're too busy labelling the "people" the "takers" and trying to take apart the social safety net.

I don't like this guy at all. I've listened to him a couple times and found him vile and don't agree with his political opinions.
