Quit Bashing Obama

Posted: May 9, 2015

Guilty on all charges. We, the citizens of these United States of America, what are we going to do about it? By Col. Robert F. Cunningham and Patrick Rishor, The Gilmer Mirror (Northeast Texas Newspaper) Quit trashing Obama's accomplishments. He has done more than any other President before him. Here is a list of his impressive accomplishments: 1. First President to be photographed smoking a joint. 2. First President to apply for college aid as a foreign student, then deny he was a foreigner. 3. First President to have a social security number from a state he has never lived in. 4. First President to preside over a cut to the credit rating of the United States. 5. First President to violate the War Powers Act. 6. First President to be held in contempt of court for illegally obstructing oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. 7. First President to require all Americans to purchase a product from a third party. 8. First President to spend a trillion dollars on "shovel-ready" jobs when there was no such thing as "shovel-ready" jobs. 9. First President to abrogate bankruptcy law to turn over control of companies to his union supporters. 10. First President to bypass Congress and implement the DREAM Act through executive fiat. 11. First President to order a secret amnesty program that stopped the deportation of illegal immigrants across the US, including those with criminal convictions. 12. First President to demand a company hand over $20 billion to one of his political appointees. 13. First President to tell a CEO of a major corporation (Chrysler) to resign. 14. First President to terminate America's ability to put a man in space. 15. First President to cancel the National Day of Prayer and to say that America is no longer a Christian nation. 16. First President to have a law signed by an auto pen without being present. 17. First President to arbitrarily declare an existing law unconstitutional and refuse to enforce it. 18. First President to threaten insurance companies if they publicly spoke out on the reasons for their rate increases. 19. First President to tell a major manufacturing company in which state it is allowed to locate a factory. 20. First President to file lawsuits against the states he swore an oath to protect (AZ, WI, OH, IN). 21. First President to withdraw an existing coal permit that had been properly issued years ago. 22. First President to actively try to bankrupt an American industry (coal). 23. First President to fire an inspector general of AmeriCorps for catching one of his friends in a corruption case. 24. First President to appoint 45 czars to replace elected officials in his office. 25. First President to surround himself with radical left-wing anarchists. 26. First President to golf more than 150 separate times in his five years in office. 27. First President to hide his birth, medical, educational, and travel records. 28. First President to win a Nobel Peace Prize for doing NOTHING to earn it. 29. First President to go on multiple "global apology tours" and concurrent "insult-our-friends" tours. 30. First President to go on over 17 lavish vacations, in addition to date nights and Wednesday evening White House parties for his friends, paid for by the taxpayers. 31. First President to have personal servants (taxpayer funded) for his wife. 32. First President to keep a dog trainer on retainer for $102,000 a year at taxpayer expense. 33. First President to fly in a personal trainer from Chicago at least once a week at taxpayer expense. 34. First President to repeat the Quran and tell us the early morning call of the Azan (Islamic call to worship) is the most beautiful sound on earth. 35. First President to side with a foreign nation over one of the American 50 states (Mexico vs Arizona ). 36. First President to tell the military men and women that they should pay for their own private insurance because they "volunteered to go to war and knew the consequences." 37. Then, he was the First President to tell the members of the military that THEY were UNPATRIOTIC for balking at the last suggestion. It's hard to comprehend all this guy has gotten away with. Any other president would have been impeached! What in God's name is wrong with our government that they allow this guy carte blanche? It absolutely boggles the mind! I feel much better now. Had been under the impression he hadn't been doing ANYTHING!;

Love your posts! - Especially this one!!

His legacy will be that he is the worst president in American history!

Since #3 is disproven by the Social Security website itself, dare we ask for proof of the others or - assume they are lies about Obama too?

[ In Reply To ..]
Here are the rules from the Social Security Website.

http://www.ssa.gov/history/ssn/geocard.html

Direct quote:

"Thus, the Area Number does not necessarily represent the State of residence of the applicant, either prior to 1972 or since."

#2 is also suspect. I've seen the application for "Barry Soetoro" in Malaysia, Curiously, there is no date anywhere on the application?

There's also no proof Obama is Barry Soetoro, other than a fake Columbia ID which does not match any Columbia University's IDs in the entire history of the school, and Obama is clearly older than age 22 in the picture (which he would've had to have been the oldest age he could've been as an undergrad). Additionally, we do not have Obama's signature today for comparison on the application.

I stopped reading after #3 could be proven definitively a lie. And I find it hysterical that anyone here imagines it's lies like these that have been told here that would ever cause anyone to grow unhappy with Obama rather than Obama's decisions themselves or other reasons, which have always been found from other news sources than Faux News and not-so-Breitbart.

(Mostly, we just use Fox and Breitbart fodder as "jokes for the day" emails and cyber toilet paper).

Actually, no, you can't assume any such thing. - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
The OP makes 37 assertions, each of which stands or falls on its own merits.

Bottom line: If you proved 36 out of 37 to be false, you still could not logically "assume" the 37th was also false.

Sorry!

But it gets worse for you. You said that you "stopped reading at #3" - which didn't surprise me. If you had read the others, you would have realized that, although a few of them could reasonably be called into question, most of them are factual to the point that even Obama couldn't disagree with them (although he might prefer that they be worded differently).

Then you could have saved yourself the trouble of even posting this question.

So if a Hummer ad said "best gas mileage on the road" as its opener, we should - listen to the rest and buy it anyway?

[ In Reply To ..]
Why, because another ad point said I'd drive better off-road in one, though gas mileage on an actual highway is important to me?

I don't care if the other points in the "ad" are true, one of the very first "facts" stated is a lie and, so it is reasonable assumption that I'm being lied to in other points of the ad (but I did ask). Who wants to read/listen further and buy a product if one of the first attention-grabbing statements can be proven a lie?

And I use put the term "facts" in quotes because everything on the list was asserted as fact with no disclaimer, but no proof was provided whatsoever.

Instructing us that other things on the list are facts still does not make them fact OR provide proof that that they are, sorry.

I consider the OP a Tea Party ad, nothing more, for products I'm not buying because I was lied to in the opening statements, sorry.

I find it impossible to believe that you really think this - is analogous.
[ In Reply To ..]
As I said, each assertion is independent of the others. The "order" in which they appear is immaterial, and the "Social Security" assertion might just as easily have been the LAST item on the list.
So by that logic, then people shouldn't rule out everything Obama says as a lie - just because he lied about Obamacare
[ In Reply To ..]
Perhaps that analogy is making things clearer?

I agree, points should be independent from one another; however, it is also true people don't like being lied to. They tend to turn off to products overall when they feel they are lied to, even once.

First, let's not throw words like "lie" around carelessly. - Differentiate error from deception.
[ In Reply To ..]
Second, I agree that you can't say that everything Obama says is a lie because he lied about Obamacare.

Although he did indeed lie through his teeth about Obamacare from top to bottom, I think that many other things he has said have been true. Unfortunately, too many people either weren't really listening or didn't really understand what he was saying. If they had, he would never have had a second term.
Are we sure that either Obama or the fact-list author lied vs. "just made an error"? - No, we are not sure
[ In Reply To ..]
I don't necessarily believe Obama lied about Obamacare, I said that to make a point using the same logic.

Maybe Obama lied, maybe he made an error. Or perhaps just didn't tell us us everything that he knew about the product which is the same as lying. I personally believe he had to know more than he let on. However, that is only my speculation I cannot prove.

Maybe the author of the "fact-list" in the OP lied, maybe they made an error. Or perhaps they didn't tell us everything they knew about the things listed definitively as fact, which is the same as lying too. Again, I personally believe they had to know some those things listed as fact had been disproven or were at least questionable, and yet it was posted anyway as fact. But again, that is only my speculation I cannot prove.

So why is it okay to assume then that Obama "lied through his teeth" about Obamacare, but not assume the same about the author of the "fact list?"

What's good for the goose should be good for the gander - so why isn't it?

Regardless, I agree that different points should be exclusive from one another. However, it is also true that some points are weighted based on what's important to us. Therefore, if the individual points that we were lied to about are important enough to us, we as humans tend to turn off the whole advertisement as human nature.

Actually #3 is true - I saw the proof
