OBAMACARE: Nearly 1/3 of Docs May Quit Medicine

Posted: Mar 17, 2010

All of you "geniuses" who voted for the Commie interloper voted against your own interests!  Oh yeah, that's right:  you LOVE working for turd worlders with thick accents!  There will have to be a MASSIVE importation of docs to fill the void when all of these docs RETIRE!

(CNSNews.com) - Nearly one-third of all practicing physicians may leave the medical profession if President Obama signs current versions of health-care reform legislation into law, according to a survey published in the latest issue of the New England Journal of Medicine.

The survey, which was conducted by the Medicus Firm, a leading physician search and consulting firm based in Atlanta and Dallas, found that a majority of physicians said health-care reform would cause the quality of American medical care to “deteriorate” and it could be the “final straw” that sends a sizeable number of doctors out of medicine.

for YEARS now because of difficulty in getting reimbursement from ins companies who make them jump through hoops and charge them exorbitant malpractice rates. Another teabag myth shot down with one simple sentence.

I know of 2 who stated they will just retire early. - The plan stinks, try reading it.nm

Same uproar when social security and Medicare created. Ya gotta start somewhere.

do you know anything about medical billing? - dnh

If you did, you would not make that statement. ask a biller. medicare sets the bar for all the payment crap; private insurers just follow their lead. And it isn't insurance companies causing the exorbitant malpractice rates. It is the patients who sue for anything and everything and the judicial systems which allows it and awards preposterous amounts in damages. And it isn't just providers leaving practice. It is practices not accepting Medicare patients. I would suggest you research what the Mayo Clinic is experimenting with starting at Mayo-Scottsdale. You all moan about providing care for everyone but don't seem to have a problem with the fact that now it will be the seniors left out in the cold because even though we will have coverage; we just won't have physicians who will accept it.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, eh? - IF that were true, then

I would say good riddance. Let MDs who practice medicine purely for the profit go the way of the dinosaurs. Perhaps they can find work on Wall Street. There are plenty of doctors who strive toward the advancement of medicine and are motivated by more humanitarian causes, and let's face it. MDs will never really have to worry about coming up short of bucks. May the greed-driven among them become tomorrow's curiously sad social anachronisms.

However, L. Brent Bozell, III, owner and founder of CNS.com, nephew of William F. Buckley, conservative activist and self-proclaimed bias police, and his organization are hardly very credible sources. Their agenda is patently obvious, as the HCR process winds down and their hour of reckoning draws nigh. Let them pull out all their stops, for all the good it will do them. They can't stop progress, no matter how hard they try.

Great post. I couldn't agree more. (nm) - Nikki

And *who* is a COMMIE now? Obama? If so, you really make yourself appear ignorant.

I got a news bulletin for ya: We ALREADY have a massive importation of docs = US doctors have been leaving the field for decades.

Please don't mine the media for 'facts' that back your narrow view. Unless of course it makes you feel better.

And by the way, 'turd worlders?' are you KIDDING me? what are you 4 years old?

Some South Florida Docs Decline To Accept ObamacareJul 14, 2014
After being without health insurance for two years, Miranda Childe of Hallandale Beach found a plan she could afford with financial aid from the government using the Affordable Care Act’s exchange. Childe, 60, bought an HMO plan from Humana, one of the nation’s largest health insurance companies, and received a membership card in time for her coverage to kick in on May 1st. But instead of being able to pick a primary care physician to coordinate her healthcare, Childe says she repeat ...

Question Re: New Docs Or Same DocsAug 25, 2012
I'm wondering if anyone out there can give me an idea of something. I work for a hospital. I've been there about a year and a half, and I get new doctors almost every day (we have literally thousands of doctors working for this group of hospitals). I recently learned that many of the other transcriptionists get the same docs all the time. This is making me extremely frustrated because I can never get my line count up because I'm constantly trying to learn new docs, their accents, ...

Has Anyone Ever Taken A Homeopathic Medicine For Depression?Apr 14, 2011
I've tried several of the traditional medications for depression - Prozac, Effexor, and Zoloft.  They work for a while, I had some side effects, but then they stopped working and the depression came back every time.  I've heard more cons than pros about St. John's Wort, so I'm not sure I want to go that route, but would like to hear from anyone else who has tried the homeopathic route and got good results (or bad, so I know what to stay away from!) Thank ...

For Those Of You Interested In Concierge Medicine, Mar 30, 2017
ObamaCare. Working directly with his patients and cutting out the insurance and government bureaucrats, lowers costs for the patients and increases the quality of care they receive. This shows how free market solutions can cut healthcare costs. This is the way out of the healthcare trap, and ironically it's being driven by doctors themselves who want to be doctors rather than insurance administrators. So-called "concierge medicine" is available in most areas and the number of doctors ...

The IRS did not respond to requests Monday following up about that release, and whether it had determined how the applications were sent to ProPublica. In response to a request for the applications for 67 different nonprofits last November, the Cincinnati ...

Limbaugh Unwittingly Praises Socialized Medicine, AgainMar 10, 2010
By Stephen C. WebsterTuesday, March 9th, 2010 -- 10:38 pm Right-wing radio talker Rush Limbaugh must be confused. During a recent broadcast, he vowed to "go to Costa Rica" if President Obama is successful in passing his health reform legislation. Most assumed he meant the statement in the vein of his promise to leave New York City over its tax rates, which he did. Now Limbaugh is saying he will not leave the U.S., as in, move away. Instead, Limbaugh claims that he will simply "go to Costa Rica ...

Ronald Reagan Speaks Out Against Socialized MedicineJul 30, 2013
Happy 48th birthday to Medicare.  Ronald Reagan and the right wing tried to kill Medicare before it was signed, sealed, and delivered on July 30, 1965, by calling it socialized medicine and the end of America as we know it. Quoting Reagan: “[I]f you don’t [stop Medicare] and I don’t do it, one of these days you and I are going to spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it once was like in America when men were free.” Quoti ...

Union Mocks Limbaugh's New Found 'love' Of Socialized MedicineJan 05, 2010
By Stephen C. Court Documents Reveal Palin's Grandson Uses Socialized Medicine.Feb 23, 2010
By Stephen C. Yes, that's right: Sarah Palin, Alaska's former governor and a millionaire thanks to sales of her book, has a g ...

Obamacare Is Failing From Behind... His Goals For ObamacareJul 20, 2016
1) Have it collapse so that single payer can be implemented amidst the ensuing chaos. 2) Have that happen on somebody else’s watch. Obamacare was designed to fail so the Democrats could “reform” it with complete government provided socialized medicine. That is the entire purpose for it. Obamacare is designed to collapse so they can backfill the vacuum with government run socialized medicine. Eventually, everyone will be on some form of Medicare. I believe that was one of Bernie’ ...

I've been an active smoker for 15 years. I grew up in a smoker's household, so I don't know what it's like to live without cigarettes around.
