Pope pretty much lays it out there

Couldn't have said it better myself.

;

Let's see - that would be the Pope surrounded by walls, sophisticated security - ...and guards with guns...

...the head of the country (yes, the Vatican is a country) with the MOST RESTRICTIVE IMMIGRATION POLICIES IN THE WORLD, telling us how we should do things.

He implies we're not "welcoming" enough, obviously not knowing how many millions of LEGAL immigrants have been welcomed to this country.

Does he turn to the Mexicans and talk about the Christian obligation to abide by the law? Oh, no.

I'm Catholic and I say to the Pope, shut the hell up, you Holier-Than-Thou Hypocrite, and mind your own damn business. The Church has a few problems of its own that might better benefit from your ministrations.

Dear Pope, can we send all the illegals to Vatican City now? - Will you sell all of the Vatican's assets

[ In Reply To ..]
and give it to the poor?

BTW, Jesus wasn't Christian, he was a Jew.

If politics uses religion, why shouldn't religion use politics? - Your comment on Jesus

Huh??! - Strange. Very strange. nm

Extremely well vetted, I presume.
Pope is a hypocrite.

Vatican City fortress wall is 39 feet tall. "Open borders - for thee but not for me"

[ In Reply To ..]
should be his motto.

Hey Pope Charlemagne, look at Europe's immigration problems, - the public is fed up with crimes

[ In Reply To ..]
from illegals. Sweden is particularly bad. Germany is going down the same path. They WANT walls.

The Pope who also said - who am I to judge?

[ In Reply To ..]
I don't think he should question his Christianity. Not very Christian like.

I am Catholic and instantly loved this man when he became pope, but that love is fading fast. I really don't see how US politics and politicians are really any of his business. I guess he feels we should just open our borders regardless of who wants to cross over, innocents or terrorists. He is not the one who would suffer the consequences that allowing all of these people in would cause. He really, really needs to hush!

Insufferable cheek. Pope was more tolerant of Rouhani from Iran! - Socialist clown.

[ In Reply To ..]
I knew shortly after he was elected and we started to learn something about him that he was going to be a peckerhead of the first order. Meanwhile, his own homeland, Argentina, might be a better subject for his meddlesome interference. Utopia, it ain't.
Are you showing your age? LOL - Truthhurts
[ In Reply To ..]
I haven't heard the word peckerhead in years! I had even forgotten how often it was used back in the day. ;-)
Nope. You'll find plenty of current Google hits. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
It does tend to be somewhat colloquial in usage, so I guess you'd say I'm showing my geographic region rather than my age.

I'm not Catholic - but my grandchildren are

[ In Reply To ..]
I really liked him at first, but this was not right. Like my daughter said, "I'm not going to question anyone's salvation. That's between them and God." The Pope should do the same.

FT/MT - They are his business because

[ In Reply To ..]
he is also a head of state.
Yes, the head of a state surrounded by walls - and no illegal immigration problem.
[ In Reply To ..]
Like comparing someone rowing a skiff to the captain of a destroyer, wouldn't you say?

None of his business because he's never once had to deal with the problem.

I repeat: NONE OF HIS BUSINESS.

The Pope has no right to comment and should keep his - ignorant mouth shut

He of all people has no right to say someone is not a Christian. He does not know. He is not an American citizen and he does not know Trump and Trumps heart. Trump is a Christian. More than I can say for the Pope. Maybe stupid people will believe him, but I'm confident enough that there are more intelligent people out there that know Trump is a Christian man with a good heart. Someone needs to save us from the monsters. We're not getting it with politicians.

Here's a message - Hey popester. You know diddly squat about Mr. Trump. You probably think Obama is a Christian. Stop making comments trying to sway the votes to what you want. In other words - Keep your freakin pie hole shut!

You mean the black pope - who is - anything BUT a Christian

[ In Reply To ..]
Yeah, that's the one. Now that's one creepy dude!

Pray tell, is there a litmus test? Does Donald Trump meet a - single requirement? nm

Lunch With The PopeFeb 14, 2017
President Trump invited the Pope for lunch on his yacht, the Pope accepted and during lunch, a puff of wind blew the Pontiff's hat off, into the water. It floated off about 50 feet, then the wind died down and it just floated in place. The crew and the secret service were scrambling to launch a boat to go get it, when Trump waved them off, saying "Never mind, boys, I'll get it." The Donald climbed over the side of the yacht, walked on the water to the hat, picked it up, walke ...

The Pope And Politics: Should He Or Shouldn't He?May 18, 2015
Well, since it's very quiet on the forum today, I thought I'd post something I initially read on Friday on paper in the WSJ, but I couldn't find the exact article online, so I posted the same story from my other favorite, the Washington Post:  Pope Francis and the vatican announced a treaty that recognized the Palestinian state, and he also conferred two 17th century Palestinian nuns for canonization. Even if you're not Catholic or you don't agree with him, ya gott ...

Pope/Trump VisitMay 24, 2017
Trump said he "won't forget what" the Pope said to him in their private meeting. And the Vatican put out a nice statement after their meeting saying the two leaders talked about "the promotion of peace in the world through political negotiation and interreligious dialogue" I hope world peace is what he won't forget. I hope that he will stop the incessant attacks and bombing by the U.S. In other news, Trump seems to have taken back that NATO is "obsolete" with a simple statement ...

Pope canonizes 2 Palestinian nuns and calls Mahmoud Abbas an "angel of peace." Really good to see the Pope furthering peace in the Middle East. Two state solution is the only possible peaceful solution. Perhaps this will further negotiations. If a reasonable approach, such as this type of recognition, had been taken with the Palestinian state situation, this issue might have been resolved by now. http://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/pope-calls-palestinian-leader-mahmoud-abbas-ange ...

I Am Glad Pope Francis Is Such A WidelySep 26, 2015
As the leader of the Roman Catholic religion he obviously has a great following and his thoughts mean "the world" to many, many people. I am glad for his ability to speak about humanity and the subjects that so desperately need to be illustrated and explained to so many in the United States. The "so many" in the United States seem to be predominantly conservatives, but not exclusively. There is plenty of corporate greed and corruption in both parties, and he spoke to the evil in that also. ...

If you haven't followed, the attached is an interview of the boy who shot the fairly famous video showing the actions in McKinney, Texas. McKinney, Texas needs to distance itself from this officer, fire him and admonish his actions as unacceptable. We see this type of psychology everywhere.
