Poor companies--paying so much in taxes.

Hmmm. . . take a look at Boeing.   I am glad for the employees--but shouldn't companies pay a fair share as well?

Wow - those are some big numbers! I wish I could get a piece of that. And I'm not trying to be a smarty-pants this time - I'm serious!

I read through the comments section. Other than the obvious drive-by goons, there were some comments that made me go "hmmm." Since I'm not a corporate tax expert (and never want to be), I don't know if these numbers are really the bottom line. Corporate tax structures are not for the faint of heart.

Then you hear that GM gets a US tax break of $14 billion and $19 billion world-wide tax break. They really cut themselves a nice deal.

My friends at GM should get their $3000 bonus any day now. Woohoo! Thanks taxpayers!

Why Raising Taxes In Poor Economy NEVER Good IdeaAug 01, 2010
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100801/ap_on_bi_ge/us_wealthy_cut_back   Taxes should NOT be raised on anyone right now... less spending, fewer jobs for the rest of us. Insurance Companies At It Again! Feb 12, 2010
Dear MoveOn member, Blue Cross has just announced that it's immediately raising premiums charged to hundreds of thousands of individual customers by as much as 39%—even though their parent company's profits soared to a record $4.7 billion last year.1 Even worse, the insurer has so far refused to explain why they're increasing their rates, and warned that they might do so again this year without warning. The Obama administration is demanding answers from Anthem Blue Cross, ...

Companies To Work For As CNA - SmJul 11, 2014
I seem to recall someone posting the name of a company recently that had an great rep to work for as a CNA.  I looked them up at that time (couple months ago?) but they did not have any openings at that time.  Unfortunately I do not think I saved the name.   I recently completed a course and my state certification and now looking for a job.  Anyone remember the name or the place or have any suggestions.  VA beach, Norfolk, Williamsburg, Richmond  ...

Paying For CollegeFeb 06, 2016
First, it would be means-tested.  No assistance would be offered to families who don't need it, and for those eligible for assistance, the amount would be based on the level of need.   Families at the poverty level would receive the greatest assistance and the amount would decrease as the family income level increases until hitting the "wealthy"cutoff of no assistance. Second, assistance would be based on the residual need AFTER taking into account scholarships or grants, if ...

On Line Diet CompaniesJul 29, 2010
I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried the on line diet places where you purchase food, like NutriSystems, EDiets, etc., and actually lost weight.  Mostly I am considering it because of having to work 18 hours a day to barely make my mortgage each month, I do not really have time to cook a nutritious meal, and my body is suffering.  I was wondering if the food was any good, and if someone actually did lose weight.  I was wondering if the cost of the food was worth not havin ...

i begged my company to change my hours just a little bit, but they wouldn't (long story). i HAVE to reduce my hours because i find doing medical transcription 40 hours a week absolutely mind numbing. it's killing me. so, is there anyone who knows of any companies that will hire me part-time, like maybe 30 or 32 hours a week? if so, any chance they will let you work a broken schedule, like kind of pick your own hours? i'm willing to work saturday and sunday, but i don't want t ...

It Is Insane That We Are Paying For Trump'sApr 14, 2017
If Trump truly cared about us, they would be paying for their own security since adult chidren do not have to be covered by Secret Service.  I'm sorry if supporters don't see this as a problem but you should.  It is not right that taxpayers are paying so they can advance their business. Before you start slamming Obama, I would be equally upset if his adult children or he were doing company business on our dime. Trump and his family are costing us a lot of unnecessary costs ...

On Obamacare Insurance Companies Pulling OutJun 22, 2017
Obamacare allows people to wait until they get sick to sign up. That's no different than waiting until my house burns down to sign up for homeowners insurance or waiting until I wreck my car to get car insurance.I understand that there are a lot of people who don't own a house or a car and maybe are unfamiliar with how insurance works.  It is "insurance" which means insuring against what might happen. Allowing people to wait until they are sick means the insurance company is basic ...

I then decided to switch CC and go with one that offered 0% for 17 months. If Trump Really Does Put Tariffs On Companies With Overseas OperationsNov 11, 2016
It sounds like he is referring to manufacturing.  No idea if it refers to transcription.  Or to call centers.  Or Amazon outsourcing its customer service to Costa Rica. Paying Ransom To Terrorists Is Subject To Prosecution (2014)Aug 04, 2016
journalist James Foley, who was beheaded by ISIS on August 19, told ABC News that government officials threatened the Foleys to stop them from paying a ransom to free their son. The threats reportedly came from a prominent military officer on the White House’s National Security Council, who warned them that paying a ransom to ISIS would support terrorism. “Three times he intimidated us with that message. We were horrified he would say that. He just told us we would be prosecuted. We knew ...
