If you are burned out on transcription and want to not sure what to do, this is the time of year when all of the insurance companies start hiring temps to do their annual HEDIS projects. The projects last 5-6 months and pay well. Call your local temp agencies and ask about them. I went from transcriptionist to working on one HEDIS project in 2014, did odd jobs til the 2015 project started, was on unemployment for a few months for the first time in my life and then got hired on permanently by an insurance company - to work at home. If you want a way out, this is it. A lot of HEDIS jobs require you to be a nurse. But not all. There are tons of administrative HEDIS jobs - call the agencies, seriously.
I appreciate that I had transcription to do in the good old days - the 90s when my kids were young. But it got to be too hard to make money and I was so tired of being chained to my keyboard. If you are looking for a way out I recommend looking into this.
