Thought we could all use a laugh. I got this email.....

The Pentagon announced TODAY the formation of a new 500-man elite fighting unit called the:

United States Redneck Special Forces (USRSF)

These mostly Southern boys will be dropped off into Afghanistan and will be given only the following facts about the Taliban and terrorists:

1. The season opened today.
2. There is no limit.
3. They taste just like chicken.
4. They don't like beer, pickups, country music, or Jesus.
5. They are directly responsible for the death of Dale Earnhardt.

The Pentagon expects the problem in Afghanistan to be over by Friday.

It was funny in the beginning, but now it's like walking around with a pit bull lunging at my heels. Instead of finding this person humorous, now I just pity him/her for having such an enormous hatred for a person he/she doesn't even know.

It was just a joke sent to me by my redneck friend who happened to think it's funny.

So why would you say I have enormous hatred for a person I don't know. Are you talking about rednecks, Dale Earnhardt, country music fans, beer drinkers, or Jesus. I happen to like them all. Especially the last one.

Just unsure which you are talking about. You also seem a bit threatened by people who have an opposing viewpoint than you do because in all of your posts you accuse anyone who doesn't agree with you of "hatred". The same could be said about you.

I have nothing against any of the people you mentioned -- not a thing.

Please point out what I wrote that disturbed you so I can go back and see if I should have worded something differently. If it's about some people being hateful, that was directed at "nm" who has been stalking me on this board and typing insulting one-liners. This person does seem to be hateful, in my opinion, after reading his/her many, many unrelenting responses to me that are always hateful. You, on the other hand, don't seem to be hateful.

Maybe we're both wrong. Maybe he/she isn't hateful and DOES have a sense of humor.

I know this is a little late, so not sure if you'll get it.

I was a little confused. I saw your message about waking up to something that makes you smile. Then someone posted that it was stupid and something about picking on rednecks and religious people (which did make me smile), then someone replied to that and said they don't think the OP was a liberal, and that you didn't post the article, then you responded with it doesn't matter he/she blames you for everything and has an enormous hatred........wait.....I understand now. Gosh Nikki - I am so sorry and my biggest apologies.....I thought you were directing you messages towards me and I was trying to figure out who you thought I hated. Geez...I am sorry. I now understand who you directed your message too. It wasn't until I read "me"'s message two or three times (and slowly) did I realize that the person who said the joke was not funny probably thought you posted it. Doesn't it suck to have posters attack you not for the content of the message, but for the person who is posting. I have noticed the poster you mentioned keeps bashing you with the one liners. It really gets tiresome that you can't have a decent conversation without fly-by's. I really hate getting labeled (whether it be democrat or republican - I'm neither and I don't like either party right now).

But...in careful reading of the messages again, I do understand who your message was directed towards I sincerely do apologize.

I also have to say this is why I don't post much anymore because for some reason people learned who I was and some months ago seemed like I was getting bashed more and more, so I stopped coming to the board. And I do want to say that I'm finding myself agreeing with your posts more frequently than before, but I just don't post a whole lot anymore. I actually had to "cut myself off" of coming here. It was like an addiction. LOL, but I do come and will post an article or joke from time to time. I'm glad you liked the joke.

This board can be very confusing at times. I've replied to the wrong person accidentally, so I fully understand where you're coming from.

I just wanted to be sure I didn't offend you because I really liked your joke, and yes, it does suck to have posters attack me simply because they have decided that my name equals someone who disagrees with them. I have various views on various things, but they have placed me in the "enemy" column and continue with the one-liners.

Like you, I'm neither Democrat or Republican, and I'm not all that fond of either of them at this point, as well.

Okay, now I don't feel so bad about posting in the wrong place or to the wrong person by accident. I too will continue to post jokes and links and if they want to attack just because of my name guess you can't stop them, but I do ignore them. The bullies will not win!

I am in NO way a liberal. I'm not conservative either, but if my life depended on it and I had to choose I'd go more conservative. And probably everyone on this board who knows my posts knows that.

By the way...my friend who sent it to me is a redneck and she thought it was funny. If you see pictures on funny websites of redneck things, you might just even see her or her husband in the pictures. They are rednecks to the core but they admit it and laugh about it. They don't get offended. In fact, I'm sure they probably make the jokes up themselves.

You surely must have laughed at the line about Dale Earnhardt. That was a hoot.

I would have to respond with a thank you. However, I prefer the term "Progressive" as opposed to "Regressive". That sounds like one you may identify with more.
