I never saw James Carville so furious and I don't blame him. This is oil spill is absolutely unforgiveable. The marshlands are being destroyed and probably the whole fishing industry for a few years, if not more than decades.
I was reading other reports yesterday and I always read the poster's comments. Some say stop depending on oil and depend on nuclear, solar, and wind. That's easier said than done. Solar and wind are expensive and not a guarantee for northern climates. Nuclear. NEVER! Since Three Mile Island, I don't trust nuclear energy (or the people responsible for running those plants). So many people, including me, had so much stress after that incident. My cousin moved back here during it (he lived 3 miles from the plant), but even so, we would have also been fried if it had thoroughly melted.
Until there is a better use to make electricity to run everything, we have no choice. Sorry, got off my point which is, those who want to stop off shore oil drilling have to remember that this is the worst oil spill since the Valdez. I do believe BP should be fined heavily and forced to pay the cost of the full cleanup, and definitely have all their leases recinded.
Oh, and BTW, did you hear the government is thinking about putting in a $.32/gal. oil and gas tax towards the cleanup? Guess who that affects? You and me again. When will the government realize the taxpayers can't foot the bill for everything anymore? They better take their blinders off. I'm really getting frustrated, furious, mad as HE11.
