"Only 36,000 people lost their jobs today, which is really good," Sen. Reid, caring Dem.
Posted: Mar 5, 2010
Two million jobs lost since the stimulus was passed. That's Bambi's doing. Good luck blaming it on Bush.
;
Four million private sector jobs lost since Obama elected. - Anon

But he's added 55,000 government jobs....at an average of $107,000 per job versus $60,000 in the private sector.
That includes 7,000 census workers hired last month (i.e., Acorn volunteers).
I guess Bambi and the progressives on this board have no clue what this means: The government's only income is our income tax. So basically it's taking money out of our pockets to overpay government workers....and Bambi somehow thinks that's a success story.
The guy is an idiot.
Here's a little fact to go along with your fiction.... - err, I mean distortion. Context matters.....
Glenn Beck and right-wing media grossly distort Reid's jobs comments.
There is a link to the undoctored video.

Hereâs the context that supports Reidâs comment that only 36,000 jobs loss is a good thing. In the 3 months leading up to the Recovery Act, jobs losses were 750,000 a month. See? 36,000 looks pretty good when stacked up against Ws numbers.
Please inspect the businessinsider link below. It has a nifty mirror image graph showing how Obama has essentially reversed the devastation he inherited from W in terms of jobs losses in less than one year. Itâs a BEAUTIFUL piece of irrefutable proof showing that, â... Obama Is Creaming Bush When It Comes To Jobsâ

in 2012? Are you serious? His poll numbers are in the tank and dropping like a rock. People are seeing the reality about Obama....The Emperor has no clothes!
He fooled 53% of the voters last time....and now some of them have woken up. Not you, obviously. But keep arranging those Titanic deck chairs....
You underestimate your fellow "ordinary voters". Proved to be - a fatal flaw last time around...

One thing they won't forget anytime soon is that image of Bunning seared into the national consciousness, the party of no poster child of GOP obstruction and broken government.
BTW, take a long look at the graph. Suppose that trend continues over the next 5 months and the bar moves into the plus range? Stranger things have happened.
No she/he doesn't understimate her fellow voters - just me

Bunning who? We've forgotten him already. When I and others think about congress and this administration what's-his-name Bunning certainly is not one that comes up. Reid, Pelosi, Rangel, Obama, Clinton, Holbrook, Napolitano, Geithner, etc, etc.... Those are whose names we remember. Not some nobody who said something that some people didn't like.
All I know is America is fed up with what is going on in Washington and there are some changes coming. When I think about the elections it reminds me of a line from the movie Batman - "This town needs an enema".
I can assure you that the 31 million unemployed - most of who vote are acutely aware of....

Bunning, who has been looking out after their interests and who has not.
While some drop names, others prefer numbers, especially when talking about monolithic obstruction and behavior. It simplifies things so much, not to mention the fact that GOP reps and senators names have become so utterly forgettable, owing to their grinding Congress to a halt for so long.
The number 111 comes to mind. That's how many made the pub hypocrisy list last week. You remember, the guys who voted against the stimulus but tried to take credit for it when it worked?
Like I said...Underestimating voters, insulting and manipulating them with fear, hysteria, negativity, evil empire cartoons, appealing to superegos, lavishing large donors with toys, special access, etc., etc., under the circmstances seems like a recipe for disaster to me. Not a single mention of an economic or health care strategy in sight, and the very last thing Americans need right now is fun and games with hypocrites.
I must disagree - saturdaywrkr

Ax, Plouffe and Emanuel will have to spend HOURS culling the plethora of videos demonstrating pub childishness, obstructionism and deceit to pick the best ones for the political ads for 2012. Hate to burst yer bubbie.
The only way Bambi will win in 2012 is with the help of Acorn - again! - Anon
4 million jobs lost since Obama was inaugurated. No context necessary there. - Anon

Not to mention over a trillion dollars spent on the stimulus, and we're much worse off.
I know you obviously don't like pesky facts but Obama said we HAD to pass the stimulus or we'd go over (shudder) 8% unemployment. Well, here we are at 9.8%.
He failed....and he lied.
Beg to differ. Context sometimes takes the form of perspective. - See post directly below.

If O failed, W failed more. Fact: Recovery Act has zeroed out Ws pile of doodoo in one year's time.
Great post!! Glad you put in the post with the - pictures.

Sometimes I wonder if pictures are the only way some on this board understand anything. Some sure do not seem to be able to read and comprehend.
Have a little perspective with that claim. Last 12 months of W = - 4.392 million jobs lost.

It took one solid year to turn that runaway train around. Still haven't quite broken even, but we're getting there. My question for you is why in the world are you so unhappy that the Recovery Act is working? Rooting for failure, are you?
I took my figures from Feb to Feb in 2008 and 2009, since O took office at the end of the January.
Can't cry foul with Bureau of Labor Statistics.

And where is your proof that the Recovery Act is working? JOBS ARE CONTINUING TO BE LOST!!!!
And you say we "still haven't broken even, but we're getting there...."
Obama's going to be a 1-term president like Carter.
The proof is in the graph posted above. In case you ignored it - first time around...

Here it is again. It clearly shows that jobs loss has slowed and reversed over time since Feb 2009. It also proves that 36,000 (despite a 75,000 Feb estimate and increased jobless claims from snow lay-offs) is good compared to 750,000 range in months BEFORE the Recovery Act was signed.
Spare me the rest of your desperate Code Red Alert pathos.
You do realize, I hope, that most people's eyes glaze over.... - Anon

when you start trumpeting all those facts. All they're going to remember in November is that Obama is president and things are not going well.
They could care less about "increased jobless claims" and "The Recovery Act has blah-blah-blah."
Obama is an idiot and this country's going downhill fast. He will be blamed for this mess, as well he should be, and the Democrats have proven again that they cannot govern!
