Oh, Mitt, please do not apologize. (sm)

Posted: Sep 18, 2012

Those of us with intelligence know that you were speaking about not getting votes from the freeloaders.  We know exactly what you meant, and every word was true.  If you start apologizing, you remind me of the Apologizer-in-Chief who is an embarrassment.  You said what you meant, don't apologize for it.

;

yep - sm

He has no reason to apologize. Everything he said was true. It's time to treat the American voter like an adult - we can handle it.

Votes matter. Lives and the humans who live them - ....not so much.

There are only two minor problems the GOP need to figure out: How to solve their leadership crisis and where they are gong to find a platform transplant. Otherwise, they're doing just fine.

I am a Republican who can admit (sm) - Rep

that Romney may very well lose to the Communist. The Commie has powers behind him that Romney doesn't have, like George Soros, for example. He has much experience in duping the masses, as we saw in his rise from nowhere to the presidency. If this happens, we are all doomed, but many of you with the glazed-over eyes won't see it until it's too late. Too bad I can't whip up any sympathy for you.

I am a democrat who can admit... - sm

that while I know it's a tiresome truism, calling the president a communist compromises your credibility while impugning the integrity of the United States of America and each and every one of its citizens.

Why so many dislikes? - Bella

[ In Reply To ..]
Four dislikes for the above post? Why is it okay for everyone to bash Romney/Republicans, but there are 4 dislikes for bashing our ever apologetic President? Never in my life have I seen so many people like blind sheep following their leader. Have to laugh or else cry about the downward spiral of our great country. So sad.
It is pitiful, isn't it? Liberals seem to me to be (sm) - Maci

very childish on this board. They hate when you present them with facts that they can't refute, so they hit their little "dislike" button - like that really bothers anyone. Yes, we are in a downward spiral, and I for one am getting quite depressed about it. I just can't understand how people don't see it. It's very disconcerting.
Don't worry the day is only begun, there are just more - libs reading right now - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Those four dislikes don't represent everyone. Just means more libs are reading the board. The conservatives are probably on their way to work (or here in some parts of the country have not woken up yet. I liked your post. I can tell exactly why you got disliked. Because you stated facts. Because you said that he is a communist. I guess I just don't get the mind of a liberal (which is a VERY VERY VERY good thing). They want to live in a communist country and have a communist leader, but they don't want to admit it. Someone once told me she wished people would stop talking as though communism was bad. Of course, she has nothing and wants everyone else's wealth spread evenly so she will have more. Their hate is so outward and so ugly it is just sad to see so many are like that. DH told me that if Akmandinajab was running as a democrat they'd vote for him. Grandmother once to us "I've vote for a dog over a republican". The truth is though no republican has ever done anything to them personally. No republican has ever come in and stolen their health care, put them out in the streets, etc., so where the hate comes from I have no idea. They speak, but they have no clue as to how politics works and why we have a two party system. They don't care about anything else but themselves. They fail to remember there are other people in this country, not just themselves.

A lot of backing behind Obama last election were people like Soros, wall street, CEOs, Hollywood, and the richest of the richest and most powerful people in the country. Soros has brought countries down, which he said with great happiness in an interview I watched one time he said "its great fun". People like Soros, and the other elitists who rule many countries will put in who they want.

It's is very sad to see our country in such turmoil in such financial ruin, and the people of the country just forgotten about as if they don't matter. I've seen that escalate over the past 3 years, it's disheartening to watch. While they are too busy calling people not in their party (which for a fact has been taken over by communists whether they like it or not (and yeah go ahead and dislike this post, know you did before you even read it), but while they are calling the other half (or more) not associated with their party haters, racist, nazis, and all those nice little nasty names, the people in charge are sitting back smiling as that is what they want them to do. Get people stirred up with false accusations then they won't notice what is going on in the country. That is what is called "Dumbing down of America" and it's working. Lets show refuns of the Cardashians or American Idol or Survivor and they won't notice that little pay raise we voted for ourselves in the middle of the night after everyone has shut off politics and gone to bed.

So, the only thing the like/dislike means is that more liberals have read your message. When you don't drool, swoon and faint at the mere mention of His name, talk about him as though he is a god, etc. they'll attack, and boy some can be vicious and hateful. Most posts though will have 200 or more viewers but only maybe 5 or 6 likes/dislikes. Unsure why they even have the button because it doesn't mean anything.
Very intelligent and well thought out post. - Aunt Sue

...then go ahead and keep telling yourself that. The fact is, Romney is an empty suit who smirks and panders to whatever audience he's in front of (hence the constant flip-flopping and Etch-a-Sketch moments). I've never in my life seen a candidate with such open contempt for half the people living in this country.

By the way, I've read several articles that have pointed out that 47% not paying federal income taxes is partially due to the BUSH TAX CUTS. How is it that the Republicans can run on "no new taxes" and tax cuts, and then when a vast number of people are not paying taxes, they're now freeloaders???
Thanks it does. About empty suits.... - libs reading right now - sm

It does bring me comfort to know that we might have a regime change. If you think I'm voting for Romney because I love him and agree with his voting record and issues 100%. No, I don't. There is a lot that bothers me, but that goes with any candidate. The problem with the democrats is there is more wrong with their policies than there is with the republicans. I'm voting straight republican because the democrats have failed at their jobs. There is more wrong than there was 3 years ago. They said "we can't fix things overnight", well sorry, but 1,337 days is not "overnight". Nothing to improve anything. More wars, continuation of the wars he opposed, raising the debt ceiling when he stated previously raising the debt ceiling is a sign of failure, calling everyone a racist if they don't agree with his policies, the economy, the health care, the failing industries. Giving his buddies (i.e. wall street, CEOs) part of the spendulous and then they ship jobs overseas. High unemployment, which is continuing to go up, and issue after issue after issue of the failed democrats is what I am voting against.

As for yours (and others) "empty suit" comment. I could say the same about Obama. But hey, if that what brings you comfort, as Jack Sparrow says "keep tellin yourself that darlin".

Found this and reading it, describes Obama to a T:

Someone puffed up with his own importance but really having little effect on the lives of others. It is often used as an insult to disparage others who really don’t deserve the title. The true empty suit, which conjures up the image of a business suit of clothing without a person, really doesn’t know what he or she is doing. He or she is ineffectual, perhaps a phony, and is about as relevant or helpful as a suit hanging on a rack.
Oh really? - anon2

Because "conjures up the image of a business suit of clothing without a person, really doesn’t know what he or she is doing. He or she is ineffectual, perhaps a phony, and is about as relevant or helpful as a suit hanging on a rack" sounds like a spot-on description of Mr Romney.
Yup, really. Describe The O to a T. - libs reading right now - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
That description is a right on-the-spot description of Obama.

Romney/Ryan/Republicans give me "hope", yes we can make "hope" not a dirty word anymore. The current democrat regime have put half my family out of work. I believe Romney and Ryan's experience make them better for the job.

You see, the democrats still don't get it after the last election. They were all voted out because the people were sick of them. They were enriching their own lives while letting the people in their district suffer. Hopefully this next elect will follow "suit".

But yes -

"conjures up the image of a business suit of clothing without a person, really doesn’t know what he or she is doing. He or she is ineffectual, perhaps a phony, and is about as relevant or helpful as a suit hanging on a rack"

and

"Someone puffed up with his own importance"

Yup, sorry to break it to you. Obama wins that contest.

Have a nice day.

Oh, I dunno, maybe because the repeated name calling of the president as a "Commie" have grown very tiresome. If you think the president is a communist, perhaps you should educate yourself about economic and political systems and get back to us. The "glazed-over eyes" accusation at those who don't support Romney doesn't endear the author of this post to me either, hence the "dislike." Hope this clears that up.

In fact, this is round 2 (ie "I don't worry about the poor"), only worse, since we are less than 2 months away from the election and early voting is starting in some places. Good luck with your appalled "handlers."

Are you saying they DON'T count when it comes time to slash funds that feed, house, clothe and give them access to health care? It's another sweeping Romney oversight, on the order of forgetting to acknowledge the troops. Then again, of course, they don't vote either, so I'd say yes, they are part of his disdained 47%ers.
