What a spin - Insurance errors
[ In Reply To ..]
Insurance companies make errors all the time. It is never fun. Sometimes you are just not so lucky. It sounds like the problems are getting worked out.
Really made me laugh, though, when they said the family is dropping Obamacare. Oh yeah, they will be making too much to qualify. Yup, that is the way it works.
Oh no, an insurance company error! - If this were actually pertinent

I guess the two above posters were a little sensitive about this, but I feel it's good to be aware of these things and hopefully they can be prevented from happening again.

You have just very succinctly perfectly described the Republican/Tea Party agenda since January 20, 2009.
When the Republicans and Tea Partiers aren't pointing the finger and blaming Obama, they're blaming each other and infighting and agreeing on nothing and therefore solving nothing. Biggest group of whiners, finger pointers, and infighters in Congress I have ever seen in my life.
It's the Pity Party.

I simply made a comment about the words you posted, a fairly common occurrence that takes place on chat boards all across the Internet millions of times a day.
The words sound like the Republican/Tea Party agenda......... They still do.
Obamacare cannot cost anyone anything - Obamacare is the law
[ In Reply To ..]
Let me explain. The Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, is simply the law that requires certain things from the citizens and the people.
In this particular case, the insurance company, Anthem Blue Cross, made the errors and is having a hard time getting them fixed. Yes, it is going through the Nevada Exchange, but to blame the insurance company errors on the actual law itself is a bit uninformed.

is trying to help a few people, just as many people have been hurt by Obamacare - the whole mess should be scrapped and start over - but then we would probably just dish out billions more to create another mess - can we just let this fade into the sunset and let people make their own healthcare decisions? The IRS hasn't even gotten involved in this yet - wait until next year!!!!
Start over with what we had before? Sure, that - really worked well, huh?

That's funny - I seem to be working twice as hard
[ In Reply To ..]
And making half as much. That has absolutely nothing to do with President Obama, absolutely everything to do with right wing policies of low wages, cutting benefits and worker's rights, giving tax breaks to millionaires, and being allowed to cut my salary because why not? No one will stop them and they need more money to buy more politicians and more yachts.
Please apply this ridiculous philosophy to yourself. There is no horde of welfare recipients and easy living food stamp users. They are mostly the working poor, just like we are. Get real.
Corporate theft of workers' wages is what's killing - work incentive. They/we get NOTHING.

this. They are looting every store that is at I-270 & West Florissant Rd. They are looting the Hibbett Sporting Goods Store now. Kmart, Office Depot, Walmart, Sam’s Club, etc. are all in this area and have been looted.
You might do that if you felt the police - were not protecting you
[ In Reply To ..]
And, in fact, were actually using all these new crazy gun toting laws and the overwhelming police state post 911 to seek out and kill certain people.
You have to admit, so many incidents involving young people of a certain race who are doing nothing but minding their own business or jay walking seem to end in them getting killed, and it seems like the police are doing the killing, so if that doesn't make you feel lawless, what would?
How would you like to be Trayvon's mother OR that young man's mother who just got killed in Missouri OR the one shot in the car for playing loud music?
I'm not saying it's right, but I can see why you would feel that the laws don't seem to be there for your protection but almost for your exploitation and precious little value is attached to your particular life.
Maybe the looting is a way of expressing the absolute disgust that every time this happens the cop/vigilante/whatever seems to get off scot free.
So looting and vandalizing people's place of business - is okay if you feel victimized?

a heavily-armed police office couldn't find another way to "subdue" an unarmed teenager. I believe part of the reason undue force was used was because of his race, and bad experiences the police often have in that regard.
Which is still not the fault of the race itself, as much as continued poverty, and prejudice against them. That in turn brings out inappropriate, violent actions because they don't know any other way, or just plain no longer care about the consequences.
By looting, they're "fouling their own nest" so to speak, because yes they WILL lose stores in their immediate area, and have to go further to buy necessities. Those businesses that remain will have to raise their prices to pay for theft, damage, and likely increased insurance rates.
And then the whole thing comes full circle again, because looting and rioting, whether justified or not, will just taint their cause, their neighborhood, or the race of the looters/rioters themselves, and further "justify" police overreactions and shootings of further unarmed people.
It's a vicious cycle, but in this particular instance, I think it's the police that have the power to break at least one chain in this cycle... that of shooting first and asking questions later.
So killing young people - for no good reason
[ In Reply To ..]
Is okay if you "fear for your life" which could mean anything?
If a policeman suspects the person of loitering while a particular race it is okay to kill them?
We see it happening again and again and, no, looting and vandalism is not the answer, but apparently the legal system is not either.
States' rights is nothing more than a code word for "okay to kill certain people" to me, and yes, I know it means more than that, but that is what it usually seems to mean in this context.
I don't think they are trying to "soothe hurt feelings" but maybe trying to make a statement that if the laws don't apply to them for protection, maybe the laws don't apply to them for enforcement against crime either.
Not true, of course, they will no doubt get prosecuted and jailed for their actions, but I can only see it happening more and more if these idiotic laws and police brutality/homicide cases keep coming out in favor of the killer and against the innocent bystander who just happened to be a particular race.
It's kind of what happens when the law seems to always go against you, looting might be a sort of revolution because why should you follow the law if the law does not protect you?
I'm sure many people do NOT loot and vandalize, but I have to think with such a slew of unfair verdicts you would not just be FEELING victimized, you ARE victimized and what on earth can you do about it?
Any ideas on that one? Since the law seems to provide absolutely NO protection for these people of color being killed.
Do we know the FULL story yet? - I have not heard it.

You could, however, use exactly the same phrase about these killings of young people of color.
While we know these thugs who are looting and vandalizing will mostly be apprehended and detained, what about those who have perpetrated all these murders?
They have so far almost completely wiggled out of any prosecution and since some are policemen it seems hard to see them getting prosecuted.

They were all happier when no one could get decent health insurance except the top income earners (or those lucky enough to be in unions or govt jobs), who really did not worry because they either had employers who paid for it all and it was tax free OR they could certainly afford it.
I remember the CEO of my MTSO (a few times ago now that has been swallowed up by a bigger one) bragging that he had the exact same insurance we had as MTs (obviously a lot were complaining about how bad it was, the typical MTSO insurance, high deductible, stingy copays, etc.).
