Ask for a deluxe room on the strip side. You get wonderful views of the Bellagio\'s water show right from your window. Very nice rooms too.

You should really consider... - Kendra

staying on Fremont Street. Cheaper hotels, a light show, cheaper table games and less crowded, but that is just my opinion. This might also be because I grew up very close to Vegas and have been there a bunch of times, so I pretty much try to avoid the strip, if I can. Congratulations on the marriage!

My dad works at Cesear's Palace and its a nice place. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Madalay Bay. The rooms are super nice and the pool area is very nice as well. I stayed at the Flamingo last summer and it was decent as well. When my hubby and I got married in Vegas almost 6 years ago, we had the best time at the Palms after the ceremony gambling and goofing around. There is an outside bar outside of Harrahs that is fun at night time. My bachelorrette party stopped there and also when I turned 21 we stopped there. Pretty much, most of the hotels on the strip are pretty nice, so I don't think you can go wrong with the Mirage, but I have never stayed there. HAVE FUN!!! Its a blast!! You can email me if you have any other questions about Vegas, I've been there a million times and my family lives there.

Thank you for the suggestions! I was wondering where some good places would be to stop at after, as we have a lot of friends coming out. I'm sure anywhere would be fun, and since we are getting married at 11:30 pm, i'm sure we will celebrate Vegas nightlife style! Can you tell me what the average temps are during October? Hopefully warmer than northern Minnesota where I come from :) Also, are there any shows would you recommend seeing while we're there? We're only staying 4 nights, one being wedding night, so i'm trying to plan what do on the other three! Thanks so much for your help!!

Not sure off the top of my head of the temp, but it will be super nice. Right now it is HOT HOT HOT but by then it should be around 70s or 80s during the day and a little cooler at night. I can ask my dad for sure though and let you know. I got married out there in Sept and it was nice, still hot but not too bad. October should be just about perfect. I have always wanted to see one of the Cirque du Soleil shows. They look AWESOME. I haven't really seen any shows out there yet so I can't really recommend a specific one. I saw a comedy show when I turned 21 and that was okay. There are places where you can get discounted show tickets the day of the show but it depends on what shows they have available and you wouldn't really be able to plan for a specific time for a show so don't know if you would really want to do that. Are you getting married in a chapel? The chapel I got married in isn't there anymore, there is a new casino in its spot. We had a package with a limo so we cruised down the strip after, went to dinner with my whole family, and then headed over to the Palms to hang out.

You should take a gondola ride at the Venetian with your hubby one day. That would be romantic and fun. Just walking down the strip and popping in and checking out all of the different casinos is fun too. They all have little clubs and bars that are fun.
Can't wait!! - LuckyInLove

I am definitely looking forward to that weather...can't say it's always that nice here in October, but sometimes! Hopefully it doesn't cool off too much for our 11:30 pm wedding...outside :) We are getting married at the grand lakeside garden. I'm a little disapointed because i choose it because it was such a beautiful location, but since our wedding is at night it will just be black in all the pictures. :( Oh well, we'll just have to get ready early and take pictures everywhere we want! We have a limo, but only to pick us up and drop us off..no cruising around. I like the idea of the gondola ride, I think we will do that! Thanks for the suggestions!

I got married in Las Vegas and we stayed at the MGM hotel. VERY NICE!! And that was many years ago. I bet now it is even nicer.

Lots of people came to the wedding who probably would not have otherwise (who doesn't like Vegas?), the price was reasonable, it was close to my hometown and I didn't have to do any of the planning. It was perfect! :) Oh, and I got my hair and makeup done at the salon in the MGM where I saw a guy get a $120 haircut. It was wonderful!

what is your budget?? - all relative to that

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beds at the Mirage... seriously, 2 years ago we went for a bachelorette party, and I told my BF that the next bed we are buying is the one at the Mirage (they sell the same ones they use in their hotel!) Of course, I don't know if those were upgraded rooms or not, so make sure if you stay there to get those cozy as cloud beds!! the pool is AWESOME. dont know if it stays open through October??

Seriously though if your budget allows, why not stay in a really high end one like Venetian? If you are going middle of the road, I have to say Mirage was quite nice, the rooms are far away from the front desk though, what a walk!...

Other than that, avoid the north end, like Stratosphere, Circus Circus, and Riviera. Although I have enjoyed my stays at The Rivieria that is because it is wayyyy low key!

My dad always stays at MGM and loves it. I can't comment on the others as I usually stay cheap at Riviera...

The palms is a super nice place, but it is off the strip.

Good luck and congrats. Who knows maybe me and the BF will end up just driving down and eloping there that day! haha.

Something mentally wrong with Obama.  Obama Reachy/Stretchy Shows has the unmitigated obnoxious, arrogant cajones to compare a dead American Ambassador along with murdered Americans serving overseas in the ME to his campaign workers in their fight against Republican.  Every time you think Obama the Slug  cannot sink lower, Obama proves he can. ...
